"Beautiful place right on the base, large museum that covers the history of Texas military. Inside the Quadrangle there are many peacocks, and deer, and koi fish in the pond. There are some picnic tables under the big oak tree. The pace is free to visit."
"Great quiet and casual place to go and experience nature. They have many types of geese and a beautiful pond area. They also have several deer that roam the grounds and several peacocks. You can bring bird seed, or other healthy bird snacks, but don’t bring dangerous food like bread and crackers for the water fowl. I didn’t see anyone feeding the deer so I don’t know what is permitted there. Saw many families and a wide variety of ages. There was even a family sitting on the grass with a large blanket, it looked peaceful. I remember coming here as a child and loving it, it’s still a nice place to go, many years later."
"We didn't get into the museum, it was closed for the day so we just wandered the quadrangle. What a beautiful spot. So peaceful and quiet. It's amazing to see the deer, peafowl and geese wandering about without fear."
"The museum is inside a military base. The admission is free but you need to get a permit from the visitor center first, which is a few miles away. To get the permission is easy, driver licenses and car insurance are required. There is no clear sign where the museum is although it is very close to the entrance. The museum has some old weapons and explains the history of this place. Outside the building, there are fears and peacocks."
"Another great little gem of San Antonio. Free to see and wheelchair friendly. There are some animals roaming around the courtyard and there's museum towards the back. You can take your time enjoying the exibits or simply sit outside enjoying the small gardens and animals in the area. Either its very relaxing."
