WellMed at Round Rock

"I was called by WellMed and told that if I came in for a physical I would be given a $75 gift card. They said I would get it the day I came in. The girl who is supposed to take my blood and do a urine test, only took my blood. Seems like she forgot to do the urine test. It took her three times to try to get my blood and still it was unsuccessful. Then they wanted me to go somewhere else where the people were better at taking blood. I’ve never had a problem with people taking my blood. I don’t think she used an alcohol wipe before she stuck me.The other girl came in and dropped urine samples right by my feet. One test she could do because my foot twitched too much. She told me somebody in another room would do the test in a different way. That never happened. The whole thing just seemed so ridiculous and so unprofessional."

"Poor service and communication. Labs misinterpreted and unable to get timely appointments even when acutely ill (called Thursday and told I couldn't be seen until Monday and they wouldn't refill my inhaler until I was seen even though they could hear me wheezing over the phone). Dr. Rodriquez left and I was not given a replacement for over a month. I was finally transferred to another WellMed doctor further away who wouldn't refill prescriptions from the Round Rock WellMed (they had access to my chart) without another "new patient" appointment a month later."

"My Dad (94) has been seeing Dr. Poole since we moved to TX two years ago. She is very attentive to my Dad and compassionate! She reminds me that “less medication is best!” and I appreciate all her insight. We rarely wait more than 5 minutes... which is perfect for my Dad! And the lab is located there at her office. That works out great too. He gets his blood drawn a week before he sees Dr. Poole and she can review his results with us. My Dad loves Dr. Poole and I trust her too. We feel blessed to know her!"

"I love Dr. Poole. She is very attentive, listens to issues. In fact, I thought hubby was having dementia issues, she said let's make sure nothing else is going on and found a brain tumor, which saved his life. Coordinates with oncologist. Same for office and nursing staff, Blanca, Hildy, Fahla, & Kelly. Always willing to help. I'm surprised about the comment on antidepressants, I've found just the opposite she starts with natural processes and diets."

"My elderly father has had a few general practitioner doctors over the last 10 years. Nothing noteworthy from any of them. That is until we found WellMed and Dr. Lena Poole and all of her staff. What a fabulous experience my father and I have had over the past year. This practice is very PROACTIVE. They have even called me to check on my father. When my Dad's many health conditions became complicated they suggested he be part of the WellMed Palliative Care Bridges of Complex care program. All I have to do is call and they send a nurse to check on Pop. All of the nurses and office staff are just wonderful. I highly recommend this doctor and office to anyone looking for a good place for senior healthcare. I didn't think this level of care was out there anymore, but thankfully I was wrong!"
