"Ann is wonderful, very warm, carrying and extremely knowledgeable. I had engorgement that I wasn’t able resolve myself and I reached out to her after being rejected by a dozen of other lactation consultants (“the next available appointment is in a week”, others said - seriously?!) Ann has somehow instantly switched off my panic mode and made me feel that its not a big deal and we will easily resolve it right away. She gave me several recommendations and followed up a few more times to make sure Im feeling better. I also LOVED that she has both referred researches and applied the holistic approach! It made me feel even more calm and confident in the result. Ann is really outstanding and I’ll be recommending her to all my mama-friends."
"We have a 5-week old, and when people ask how things are going, I can't help but bring up Ann. She guided us through how to breastfeed without pain, what to expect, and how to troubleshoot when unexpected things arose (thrush, early signs of mastitis, etc.). She also connected us with a pediatric dentist who was able to perform a tongue tie procedure within a few days of realizing we had a tongue issue that was causing breastfeeding pain. We can't thank her enough for her patience, expertise, and connections in the central Texas area. I'd recommend her to anyone looking to breastfeed with ease and give your babe a wonderful start to life. Thank you Ann!"
"Ann Bennett is an absolutely amazing IBCLC! She caught my little one’s tongue tie within 5 minutes of seeing him when 2 other lactation consultants and 3 pediatricians had not. I wish I had started working with her as soon as we started having breastfeeding issues. I found her when my little one was eight weeks old and she was not only able to refer me to a pediatric dentist who took care of the tongue tie, she was also able to guide me through the process of getting my little one to latch again and eventually breastfeed! She is highly trained and knowledgeable. She checked on us daily while we got back on track. It took about a nine days and my baby is now breastfeeding and thriving! I can’t thank Ann enough for getting us through this very difficult and emotional time. If your goal is to breastfeed and you’re having any issues, I urge you to get in contact with Ann as soon as possible. She will forever be in our hearts and minds as someone who gently guided us back to breastfeeding success!"
"I am eternally grateful for Ann. I had a situation where my 4 month old baby was still not latching without a shield. Even when he did nurse with the shield, he fussed the whole time, was inefficient, and milk spilled from his mouth. He fell off his growth curve and was gaining weight too slowly. I had seen 3 other LCs and made a return visit to the pediatric dentist to ensure he did not need a tongue tie revision. While at the dentist, I was told he did not need a revision but was given Ann’s card. While trying to nurse him and having him scream and push away, I called Ann to make an appointment. Without skipping a beat, she heard him screaming, told me what she thought might be going on, and texted me a link to some videos for exercises/stretches to do to his mouth. She said to try them for a week. Sure enough, 8 days after starting the exercises, he latched without the shield. It took another week or so for him to strengthen, but after that he’s been effectively nursing with no fussing. He’s gone from 2% to 11% for weight in less than 2 months. With other consultants, they seemed to not know how to help beyond the standard weighted feed and positioning approach and I was told he would never be able to wean from the shield. Regardless of shield or no shield, he wasn’t nursing well and wasn’t gaining weight. I felt abandoned by them and truly was very close to discontinuing nursing all together. Ann is truly gifted. She is empathetic, knowledgable, and kind. I highly recommend her, especially for more complicated and less straightforward situations. Thank you a million times, Ann!"
"I am a first time mom and went to see Ann three days after arriving home with my baby girl. I was so confused about breastfeeding after receiving minimal guidance in the hospital. Ann changed everything for us and I left the consultation feeling very confident. Ann taught me about proper positioning and latching, along with a lot of other useful tips which immediately allowed me to successfully nurse without pain! Ann then followed up with me morning and evening the following week and thoroughly answered all my questions along the way. I recommend every new mom visit Ann in order to get breastfeeding off to a great start!"
