"I took my daughter there to be seen for mental health reasons. I was told a charge of $400 was the initial fee and I was given a discount that reduced it to $260, which I paid the day of the visit upfront. A month later I received a bill, showing an initial fee for $394, of which I was still accountable for $252. I called the billing department and was told the original fee was $700 and my $260 plus discount was applied and I now owe $252. The BILLING DEPARTMENT told me this is what the system showed. The billing department also stated the Crisis clinic will be informed of my complaint. The clinic did call me and stated they “accidentally charged me twice”. If that truly was an accident, then why didn’t that digital paper trail show in the billing department’s system???? It’s pure defraud. This contracted clinic is taking people’s money illegally and I was the wrong one this time. Oh and my child wasn’t even evaluated by a mental health professional. She was seen by a PA (physician’s assistant), even though a mental health therapist was on site that day. Stay away from this place."
"The first time I went it was amazing! They got me in right away, and didn’t question me about insurance or pay, they took care of me. A year or 2 later I felt I was on the verge of another breakdown. My regular clinic didn’t have any availability for awhile (county clinic) so I went back here to get some emergency meds until I could be seen by my regular clinic. I walked in and immediately they asked for my insurance, which I have a Marketplace plan, and they denied me and I could not afford the cash pay. They let me leave crying and feeling hopeless."
"A coworker was referred to this clinic after their teen became suicidal, while at school. The staff helped them fill out the paperwork and their teen was seen and prescribed medication the same day. The staff never asked about insurance or income; but, I'm not sure if that is standard. Thankfully, that person is doing better now. When my child became depressed and expressed suicidal thoughts I immediately thought of this clinic. The intake nurse briefly spoke with us, outside the clinic, and went back to talk with the therapist. She came back and said the therapist would not see or even speak with my child and I should go to an ER. I was so confused, angry, and afraid for my child that I could barely speak. Imagine you have an adolescent who is in crisis and they want to get help. Now imagine how they feel being told that the person, who they hoped would help them, could not take 60 seconds to come and speak with them. Not even acknowledge them. We left and they later remarked "I told you, even that therapist knows I don't matter". If you are in need of services from this clinic I pray that you are one of the lucky ones that they want to help. Otherwise, you're on your own."
"I am so incredibly grateful I found this clinic. As someone without insurance, trying to get mental healthcare has been a nightmare. But this is a hidden gem. Everyone there was kind and there was a positive energy that felt different from other low-income clinics I’ve been to. Dr. Sheila was compassionate, understanding, and listened to everything I had to say. She was knowledgeable and explained things thoroughly in a way that was easy for me to understand. The clinician Ashley was very helpful in providing resources to continue my care. It feels great to actually have some hope for my mental health. So glad this place exists!"
