"I have Transverse Myelitis (a autoimmune Spinal Cord Injury). When I moved to Arlington I searched for a Neuro Therapist. I could not find one. By the grace of God I finally found NeuroKinetix!! The staff is Phenomenal here! From the front desk, (I love Jenna) to the PT staff (They are ALL great)! Dr Wood cares about you and helps to explain things and give you the best care. They have state of the art machines to help treat you and help you improve. I come 30 mins to see them and It is worth the miles. If you are looking for a wonderful place to do Neuro recovery then look no further than Neurokinetix!!"
"My son Jacob has been to 5 different physical therapy locations since his accident. We even went to the famous Shirley Ryan in Chicago. NeuroKinetix has been amazing. If you are looking for a physical therapy location that has robotics, aquatics, hyperbarics, TMS, and amazing staff look no further. This has become our second home. The staff here are like family. Love NeuroKinetix!!"
"My brother with special needs whom has also previously had a stroke and pneumonia attended this place for just under two years. At first it seemed like a god-send with all of the technology and equipment, and the cause/philosophy seemed what would have been the right environment for my brother. We have had pros and cons and good and not-so-great moments with this company. Part of it comes down to communication and understanding how to work with the clients during major transitions that occur within the company. Every time there is a transition in the company, such as switching their programming focus with clientele (Veteran’s, pediatrics, etc.), it creates a set-back with the current clients due to the therapists having to focus on those changes of focus. It is common for clients to go through a major change in therapists without their knowledge until you show up to therapy sessions. We even discussed with the company about this on many occasions, and it didn’t matter or only temporarily mattered regarding what you informed them about your preferences and certain therapists being a good fit to motivate and engage with him. They either listened to your concerns/requests temporarily and kept the current therapists on his case, or they immediately changed therapists without consent. Even when we, as a family, have repeated ourselves many many times on this matter of it being a concern as my brother with special needs has triggers and requires a certain understanding to his overall care- we still had to “repeat” ourselves about how to attend to his overall comfort needs and to understand how to work with him. Even with his, “our father” passing away recently, nothing mattered to this company about the changes in Therapists creating an additional stressor on him which have also resulted in a couple of passing out spells even after discussing with them. The only choice they provided was to stay with the newly assigned therapist, instead of staying with the therapist that had been working with him for a while. We finally decided to hit the high road as we have been through enough changes with this company and have provided more than enough patience. I admit that I am a therapist and was originally amazed by the technology and equipment-and was hoping it would give my brother a sense of hope and comfort, though it has led to on-going stress. We were hoping this company would have worked out for my brother with special needs as we had originally hoped-but sadly it didn’t work out and attend to his needs in the end. We understand that everything will not be perfect, though this was the last straw."
"NRC is not interested in helping all patients with paralysis, only some. They will throw you out if you are on Medicare. I highly recommend people not fall into their trap. Just because they have a bunch of sophisticated, expensive medical equipment doesn't mean they are there to serve all people. The facility is only there for one reason, and they know what that is. Others aren't important. What started as a mission to help victims of paralysis is now just a shallow business. The new medical director takes zero time to get to know people or their needs. My father suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury that more than changed, practically ruined his life, and they don't even have the decency or professionalism to talk to him in person about releasing him in person after two years of treatment. They don't care about people. Huge disappointment."
"I was a patient here for over a year. At first this clinic was amazing and every staff was amazing. Then in January of 2018 everything changed. They cut my therapy from 6hrs a week to 2hrs a week. I am a veteran that got hurt while serving my country. They created a non profit clinic that was to be just as amazing as the NRC. With robots and walking machines. The program after I got transferred to this clinic was still the lack of therapy. As a C5-C6 incomplete quadriplegic. I’m confined to a wheelchair. When you only have 1hr of therapy per session. What ends up happening is you only get a few minutes of stretching. A few minutes of exercise. Then depending on how long it takes for the therapist to get you in the machine. Which in my case the PTA was not trained well and normally took up to 20-30min to get me in the walking machine. For 6 months I endured this therapy. They told me they would increase my hrs once the hired another therapist. Finally in the end of June of 2018. My last session the therapist said to me that they were not going to increase my hrs because I was a badass. It wouldn’t be fair to the other patients because I was one of only 2 that was able to transfer themselves. If any of you are thinking about coming here don’t. You will not get the proper therapy you need."
