About the Business
Boone Bottoms Trail is a part of The Parklands of Floyds Fork, located on Stout Road in Louisville, Kentucky. This park system, covering over 4,000 acres, is one of the largest donor- and visitor-supported public park systems in the country. The Parklands aims to provide green spaces for the community to enjoy and improve the quality of life for generations to come.
Visitors can support The Parklands by participating in events like the annual Parklands & WLKY 5K, which helps fund the maintenance and operations of the park. The park offers a variety of outdoor experiences, including field trips starting at the PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park. Visitors can explore Floyds Fork, the Humana Grand Allee Wetlands, and more.
The park features playgrounds and spraygrounds for children to enjoy, such as the Marshall Playground and Sprayground in Beckley Creek Park. There are also picnic shelters, outdoor pavilions, and Amish-built tobacco barns available for events like weddings, birthday parties, and business meetings.
With a park system nearly five times the size of Central Park in New York, visitors can use the interactive map to navigate the expansive grounds. The Parklands is open to the public 365 days a year and relies on donations and support from the community to maintain and improve the park for future generations. Visitors can volunteer, become a member, sponsor events, or make donations to help support The Parklands of Floyds Fork.

"Beautiful trail along the creek Short easy"
"Took this hike with my family. We, the parents, are overweight and we have a 3 year old so we wanted something easy where we could get out and take in some nature without being too challenged or getting into trouble. This was an excellent walk and highly recommended for someone starting out with hikes or those with young children. There are places you can turn off to wade into nearby streams so bring stuff in case you want to do that!"
"Nice path, stroller friendly and you can access the creek."
"This trail throws you smack dab in the middle of nature. I took my 3 year old son and 2 dogs. It was easy for all to walk. There is easy access to the water, if you want to get close to that. The trail has a few obstacles but none were difficult for the 4 of us. Just make sure to wear good shoes. It was a lovely walk."
"Boone Bottoms Trail is a great family trail and is an easy trail. Very flat with just a few humps to walk over throughout the trail. Once you reach the Floyd's Fork, there are several places you can walk right down to the water. Some places are a little harder to get to the water and others are very easy. (Keep in mind this all depends on how high/low the water is). Very nice and easy trail for a quick hike/walk if your alone or with a group. (This is a NO bike trail)"
