"What an absolutely terrible and unprofessional experience. Tom Smith's office was recommended to me for accounting services by a member of my board of advisors as well as family who live in Paducah. We turned over our records to him several weeks before any return due dates with the understanding there may need to be an extension. Upon receiving documents, I received one communication from Tom indicating they were received. From that point on weeks passed with no communication and as local returns were due with partial or estimated payments I called his office to speak with him about what needed to be done to ensure no late penalties were assessed to our account. Tom never returned a call, and I was only able to speak with unqualified office staff who knew nothing of what I was requesting nor did they seem to care or emphasize with our situation which was due to a lack of communication on his own office's part. Tom Smith's customer service was abysmal on every level. As a 20+ year small business owner I could not believe the way I was treated. If a client wanted to discuss an issue with me or was upset about the service they received I would certainly reach out to rectify the issue or put them at some sort of ease, or just acknowledged their inquiry, no matter how busy I claimed to be. Ironically I received a letter in the mail indicating that Tom Smith was terminating services with us as a client, which i find to be the only humorous part of this experience. The audacity. If you are looking for a safe, secure, and professional accounting experience for your business or personal tax purposes, this IS NOT the person to perform it. The office does not utilize technology in communicating, such as professional email accounts, or secure uplink data sharing. You are better off with software out of the box as far as customer service is concerned."
