"Nice place when my Dad built the place almost thirty years ago. Folk who run the place are busy because of the mixed-use business, restaurant, bar, long and short-term rentals and small (and I mean small by necessity) meeting center. Excellent location if your trip is centered on more than a one-day exploration of the Courthouse Square, by a fortunate set of circumstances preserved 90 percent intact from the Cotton Boom of the very-early 1900's. (My great-grand father was High Sheriff in Hood County in 1880's. I can remember hay spilling over the second story windows of the Opera House.) The lake is the Brazos kept at ancient flood stage, and is a friendly swim. Yall come!"
