"We came during spring break and booked at jackass flats with no service. Since we were needing to work during our time here, we desperately needed a place to go with service which was a difficult task during one of the busiest times of year (and with our 40 foot rig). After having a few RV parks try to rip us off with $50/night or $75/night for dry camping on a slope and no amenities, we found this park and dry camped here for a reasonable $25/night. The owner and manager are really kind and they had some of the cleanest showers we’ve seen on the road. Will absolutely come back, it’s a beautiful piece of land just a couple miles from the entrance of the park and walking distance to the grocery store (literally across the street). There’s also a food truck here if you don’t feel like cooking. We loved it so much we extended our stay for another week. Thank y’all for hosting us!"
"Great location to the park, but the camp sites are rough. They are VERY close together (my awning nearly touched the next camper) and there is little organization. There is construction equipment and debris from the owners primary business everywhere making it tough to navigate a camper through and dangerous for kids to be around."
"Owners trying to improve the campground. Have to pay cash or check, no credit card not 2022 should improve that too. Office is in one of the trailers, hard to find if you do not know. Clean bathrooms. Close to Big Bend."
"This was a terrible place for tents!! I was not told about the horrible rocky area we would have to stay on nor that there was a good chance the winds would be extremely high! On the third night we ended up just getting a hotel since we could not stake down the tens in the stones. The owner is not at all friendly and instead of just giving a friendly warning to slow down in the parking lot, he yelled at us and scolded us and blamed us for speeding through the parking lot earlier in the morning. When we told him it was not us because we did not get to the campground until the afternoon, he became even more furious due to the fact he was wrong. I would not recommend staying there for anyone just because the owner is mean and nasty. The only good thing I can say is that it did have 3 nice bathrooms with a shower but definitely would NOT recommend this awful campground to anyone!"
"Quiet park even though it's right off the highway, but there's little traffic after hours. There are 4 separate bathrooms each with toilet and shower that are clean with hot water. Wifi is good and reliable. Owner is a very nice guy who works hard in his retirement. You may need to check yourself in upon arrival until he has a chance to catch up with you by visiting your site."
