"We had this company replace all our windows, doors, gutters and siding about 15 years ago. During a recent storm we lost a small piece a facia on the side of our house. I called and asked for an estimate to replace. After six weeks with no response a person shows up at my door on Saturday asking to replace my facia. I have no estimate no information. I called the office while he sat in front of my house for 20 minutes. This gentleman seemed confused that I didnt know what was going on. No call, no email nothing just shows up and can hardly speak English. Gives me a price and says he doesn’t want any trouble. I called and left a message with the an answering service and no return call. I call on Monday and Debbie takes another message . She immediately called me back (Dave doesn’t make the call himself) to explain he did send those gentlemen out to my house and I turned them away! Now I cannot get the work done because Dave wants to charge me twice the price since I turned them away it will cost me more. I will never do business with this company again. Bad business practice!"

"In short, Doug Jones reneged dubiously on a documented warranty repair, and they dragged their feet to do so. I bought a house in April, and the seller submitted a warranty claim with Doug Jones for a broken hinge on a storm door. The hinge was backordered. Doug Jones confirmed the situation – the sale, the repair, and the backorder – in a written letter. Doug Jones scheduled the repair for May, and I received no visit or call. I learned that the tech had refused to repair the door because it was 'too far gone.' I challenged this (it's a hinge), and Doug Jones promised to follow up. I made multiple calls to the office, with the same promise for follow-up each time. On my latest call in June last week, Doug Jones tells me that the door brand is not in their catalog and they will not fix the hinge. Frustrated, I tell them that I still have a broken door -- could they repair it outside of warranty? 'No,' they tell me, 'We can't.' Doug Jones struggled throughout. I had to call them to learn the part had arrived; I had to call again to get on their work schedule; I had to call to learn their tech had supposedly visited and denied the repair; I then had to call to learn they had changed their story and actually "didn't install" this door at all - two months later. They won't even take payment to make the repair. This was after Doug Jones had supposedly ordered and received the part. Either someone screwed up and they buried it for two months, or they floundered to admit they had misrepresented their warranty. Both versions make Doug Jones look sloppy and lazy. Doug Jones' mismanagement of this situation for so long is completely unprofessional."

"I have used Doug Jones Home Improvements to build a porch enclosure, siding and gutters on 2 different houses the past 25 years. I have always been pleased with their work until now. I was in the process of selling my house and a small portion of wood became rotted because the siding they put on was not fastened properly. Water leaked behind siding and rotted a small section of wood. I contacted the office several times. I was told that I am on their schedule. It has been 3 months! I have yet to hear from Doug Jones. I had to pay another company $250 to fix their mistake. I am extremely disappointed that Doug Jones Home Improvement Company doesn’t stand by their work and fix errors in a timely manner."
