The Dojo

The Dojo is a health institution located at 112 Navaho Trail in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, United States. At The Dojo, we specialize in training efficient and realistic combatives that are grounded in real-world application. Our curriculum is continuously tested and evolved to go beyond traditional methods and explore what truly works in overcoming violence in the modern world.

We train students of all ages in real-world combat skillsets and tactics, including verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, understanding pre-fight cues, and controlling space when facing potential threats. Students learn to use their hands and feet as natural weapons to defend themselves, both offensively and defensively.

Through training in posture, angles, balance control, and mobility, students learn to effectively control and dominate violent situations such as grabs, clinches, tackles, and ground fighting. We also focus on weapon use, retention, and defense against ambushes and multiple attackers.

Ronin Combatives offers a diverse mix of combat skills from various disciplines, while Ronin Edge provides in-depth classes, workshops, and seminars focusing on specific combat skillsets. Our approach to training and self-defense is based on exploring and testing a variety of fighting skills to teach what is most effective and efficient for keeping individuals safe and prepared against violence.

Our Ronin Edge events offer students the opportunity to delve deeper into specific topics, skillsets, or strategies in a small group setting, ranging from 1/2 day classes to 3-day seminars.
