Staybridge Suites Austin South Interstate Hwy 35, an IHG Hotel

"No ice machine on the property. The night shift front desk suggested I activate the automatic ice maker in the refrigerator in my room. Great idea for refreshments in a couple of hours. Not to mention that the fridge already made noises like someone shaking the handle on the room door. The morning crew said that the staff, in fact, could have provided me with bags of ice to my hearts content. I know these are infuriatingly soo first world problems, but then she said you could have filled your glass from the soda fountain that is accessible around the clock. And they charge for parking on an 80-acre multi use parking lot!"

"The location is a parking lot and street over Trudy’s. a place to eat is in the same parking lot can’t remember the name. But they were very busy.. might be good foood, ppl. A pantry is in the entrance/ lobby area to get snacks, drinks. There is cold beer you can buy BUT only till midnight. The room has a decent kitchenette, counter space. The bed was great, sheets. I have spine breaks so beds are very difficult to find something that feels good. I’d give this bed an 8 ! I am shocked it lacks USB and C port options for tech on night stands to charge phones, etc There is a movie theater in the same parking lot left side of entrance to stay bridge. I believe long stay places, higher end, condos, great pool is behind this business. The local is great bc your near and overpass to head north or south easily.. or take a back road and get on stassney to get over to mopac, west side of town."

"I'm giving service a two because the website and customer service make no mention that the only pets allowed at this hotel are dogs. The website mentions a pet fee of $75, which I was happy to pay per pet, but when I got there the receptionist told me that cats are not allowed. The manager agreed to let me stay for a $250 fee, since I was part of a larger group with multiple rooms. The receptionist was lovely through getting everything figured out, but I still haven't found anything on the website that mentions anything about the types of pets allowed. I even confirmed with customer service that I could bring cats when I made a change to my reservation. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the receptionists were great."

"Best hotel we’ve had so far. The lobby was really cozy. The staff were all friendly. Our room was also really nice, it smelled good every time we went in and it was really clean. We had a full fridge, large microwave, small stove and the kitchen had all the utensils/kitchenware. It was a good location as well, close to a lot of restaurants, a grocery store, and a gas station."

"Room was nice, but the hotel otherwise left much to be desired. A 7$ parking fee for in an area with a massive abundance (entire movie theater parking lot empty right next to hotel) of parking is crazy (and they didn't even tell me until I saw the charge after!). The breakfast items were frequently empty / overcooked. The elevators had a stench, and the machines in the fitness center were broken. The service was generally quite good, but charging for parking without notifying the customer isn't great service (they don't even know I had a car, except that this is not in an area where anyone walks). The location is right on the interstate (loud) but convenient to BWW and other restaurants."
