"Just be aware that as of February 2024 a big portion of this hotel is under construction. The lobby was completely closed and the front desk was in a hallway by the elevator. The breakfast was in a meeting room that was very warm. My room was quite comfortable and clean. I believe this hotel will be a great place to stay when construction is completed but if you don't want to work around that right now book elsewhere. The location is close to the convention center and river walk area."
"Don’t book here. We have had a reservation for months for a work trip/convention. Two hours away from being there, we got a call saying our reservation had been cancelled because the card on file declined. The automated system runs the deposits at midnight and there was no automated notice from the hotel to notify us to update the card or anything, and they waited well into the day to call and tell us (about 10 am and 4 hours away from check in) that our room was cancelled and we had no place to stay rather than first thing in the morning. We called back and spoke to a manager and were ready to update the card but they had already given our room away. We had just used this card for gas so who knows why the card was declined. It could have been easily resolved and we were ready to update our card no matter the issue. Instead, they left a family with a 7 year old and 7 month pregnant woman without a place to stay when we were already almost to the location and had done all of our paperwork well in advance. The events coordinator that coordinates the conference and who we book through even tried to reconcile with the manager and they were unwavering. We attend this same work trip every year and will now be avoiding using any Hyatt locations in the future. I wish I could leave 0 stars."
"I recently stayed at Hyatt Place on the Riverwalk in San Antonio and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel talks about its prime location right on the scenic Riverwalk, offering convenient access to the city's attractions. The room I stayed in was clean and recently remodeled, which added a modern touch to the accommodations. However, I found the mattress to be somewhat disappointing as it seemed to be on the older side, lacking the comfort and support I expected. Despite this minor drawback, the hotel's amenities were commendable. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a smooth check-in process and addressing any issues promptly."
"If I could give zero stars I would. I booked this hotel a couple of months ago and upon arrive it was apparent the entire building was under construction, the front desk was nothing more than a couple of laptops on a folding table. I understand renovations have to happen everywhere at some point in time, but with no warning, it was unacceptable. As my mother was checking in, my sister and I were browsing the pamphlets when a construction worker blatantly took a flash photo of my sisters backside. I could not believe my eyes and before we knew it he was nowhere to be found. The front desk employees were less than helpful. This whole experience was extremely frustrating and upsetting and we will be following up. I wouldn’t never recommend staying at this location- it is unsafe and the entire place is under construction."
"If I could give zero stars I would. I booked this hotel a couple months ago. Upon arrival it was apparent the entire building was under construction, the front desk being nothing more than 2 laptops on a folding table. I understand renovations have to happen everywhere at some point in time, but with no warning it was unacceptable. As my mother was speaking with an employee discussing check-in, my sister was reading a pamphlet when a construction worker blatantly took a flash photo of her back side. I could not believe my eyes and before we knew it he was gone. The women at the front desk did nothing but stare at us as we were explaining what had just happened. The whole experience was very upsetting and overwhelming. We found a lovely hotel on the actual Riverwalk and we will be following up on this incident."
