"You can't beat the location of this hotel with direct access to Riverwalk. Do yourself a favor and park in the garage across the street ($10 per day, no in and out) instead of paying $55 for overnight valet! We are a family of 4 and we stayed in a 2 queen bed room that had plenty of space for all of us. The beds were very comfortable! We did have a set of glass doors that opened up to a different hallway overlooking the pool which I thought was kind of strange - would've been nicer to have a private balcony rather than a door leading to a hallway, so we didn't use those doors. The bathroom was clean and had great smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We were on the 6th floor and there was only 1 elevator that went up to that floor, so sometimes we had to wait a bit to go up or down, but not a huge deal. Overall we had a very comfortable stay!"
"Perfect hotel for your stay in San Antonio! The service on every level is fantastic! The vallet was always prompt and helpful - our room was always clean - the food and drinks were great! I feel very safe at this hotel and stay here often with my kids. It has a very warm and inviting atmosphere that represents the city well. I also have to say that I forgot some jewelry in the room safe and they recovered it for me without a problem! I look forward to visiting again soon!"
"My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday. We had a very nice time and I was very impressed with the staff and hotel. Extra thanks to Rick in concierge. He was amazing and complimentary upgraded us to a river view room with balcony and when we entered room there were two delicious cupcakes and a bottle of sparkling wine which was so sweet! Would definitely stay again!"
"My, how the mighty have fallen! This hotel needs and extensive make-over. Room was very musty-smelling, carpet was dirty in places, shower drain was mostly stopped up (left you standing in 3" of water.) Lamp on one night stand didn't work. No luggage racks in room (had to request them). Furniture had lots of wear and tear showing. Wife says we won't stay there again. Amen."
"We usually stay at budget hotels, but occasionally I can convince my husband to stay in something much nicer. I found a deal on Expedia and convinced him that staying on the river for Labor Day Weekend would be fun. When we arrived, our room was upgraded automatically. I used to work in hotels, so perhaps our room’s previous occupants extended their stay. Regardless, we were in a nicer room, but the view wasn’t great. We couldn’t see the river or the historic streets. Maybe that saved us from noise? The hotel had an interesting history, but don’t count on the staff to give you a history lesson. There is a pamphlet available at the front desk. The bed was fabulous! Really! When we left I researched who they purchased mattresses from because I want those mattresses for my house. The pillows are down and not too soft or hard. I researched those, too. Even my husband commented that he slept “like a rock” all night because he was so comfortable. The room itself was clean, stocked with the usual toiletries. Of course I never have enough towels or washcloths so that’s probably not a legitimate complaint. There was a clever niche for me to do my hair and makeup. Hidden from view was a junior refrigerator and microwave. The staff were kind and gracious and had obviously been trained in excellent customer service, something that is very lacking in most establishments. We didn’t use the pool, but there was one available that looked nice. The hotel had a bar, restaurant and retail store. It also had direct access to the river."
