Hillview Wood Apartments

"I give a two star because the apts themselves are spacious and nice and the maintenance is great! I have several issues though! First is the fact while living there they guessed on the amount of electricity usage between buildings instead of actually reading the meters! My Lge bill was ridiculously high !!! Office couldn’t do anything about it! I just dealt with it like other residents. Second problem… I had to move out due to my stepfather passing away so I cleaned the apt very good top to bottom , even after the manager Mary said I didn’t have to (which I thought was strange) but she was very nice about everything and understanding! So I cleaned the apt, the carpet was perfect , no stains, no rips or tears just traffic spot by front door which I was told by Mary that it wouldn’t count against me on getting my deposit back. I took before and after videos and pics! I always cover myself! I also have voice recording of Mary saying the apt looked great and her thanking me etc also stating I will get my deposit back! Did the walk thru and that was that! I waited about a month and called the office to see about my deposit. I was told Mary was busy that she would call me back! After numerous times trying to reach her and leaving numerous messages it is almost a year later and still haven’t talked to her! My number and my mothers number is still the same so I call and finally reach Mary! I had to record this call because I thought it was weird that she tells me I’m getting my deposit back and then I can’t reach her for one year! She proceeds to tell me she’s just “been busy” which made no sense as this is a business! Then she says I have charges but when I asked her what charges she couldn’t tell me. So I told her how I felt it was strange that she was “busy” for one year and couldn’t return my deposit or contact me about these so called charges! Mind u I have rented from her company in previous years and did have charges that they made sure to reach me asap to pay and I did pay in full no problem! So I let her know that at this point I feel she pocketed my deposit! This is where the conversation turned very quickly! She immediately starts screaming at me saying I won’t get anything now etc etc and she hangs up on me! Very unprofessional! I have seen her act this way with other tenants as well! Never ever thought we’d get to this point as we lived next to each other while I was there and she was very pleasant! I feel she pocketed my deposit ! Why have I not received these so called “charges” ? I’m currently waiting to see if she does the right thing but if not I will have to take my evidence and her to court! I will also mention that her live in boyfriend helps her around the complex and he is a very disturbed person and should not be able to threaten tenants! I have recordings of conversations I’ve had with him that are very concerning as well! I don’t like conflict but I also don’t like being treated unfairly! So if u move here just know that she is sneaky and her boyfriend is unhinged! I really think she is stealing money from her tenants! Oh and somehow rent checks keep getting stolen !!! I seriously think it’s an inside job! Good luck if u choose to live there!"

"Apartments are somewhat okay. Walls so thin you hear every neighbors move from upstairs, and on each side you will know what tv show they’re watching. Management is the absolute worst!!!! Water bill so high for one bedroom one person it’s pathetic. Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!"

"The apartment was nice . The area was very quite And can't complain about the rent. But the management was rude and always trying to run your life. Accusing you of having a pet when you didn't. Overall was a nice place to live . Management needs to be more friendly and kind to people."

"They're really nice apartments to live in the people that work here I really nice the only thing that I would personally say needs to be changed are the appliances need to be updated on the property and the apartments but other than that but really nice it's clean and overall just a good place to be at"

"Starting off with the bad..I did a lease by fax( i didn't get to see before moving in) because i was moving into town and was given a handicap apartment and it's so outdated ,so I'm not happy happy about that..the walls are paper thin and i can hear my neighbors full conversation..they don't have an option to pay online so you have to take a personal check or money order/cashier check (very inconvenient)..the office staff ARE NOT friendly at all they don't even hold a conversation with you take your money and walk away.. but anything I've asked for has gotten done in a timely manner, and i love the area. The rent is very affordable and the apartment is very spacious! I asked to transfer (the fees are ridiculous to do so i shouldn't have been put in a handicap apartment anyway) but we will see if that happens I'm on a "waiting list"!"
