About the Business
Community Action Council is a long-standing institution located at 1169 Winburn Drive in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. We have been serving the community since 1965, dedicated to addressing poverty and providing assistance to those in need. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life.
We are currently accepting applications for LIHEAP Winter Crisis assistance until March 31st, or until funds are spent. Please note that the Pandemic-Era Housing Stabilization Funds have ended. Our services are funded in part by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services through the Community Services Block Grant Act of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

"A blessing for those in need! They have people, there people have people... They are a top notch social service organization sprinkled in neighborhoods throughout Lexington to provide services to needy citizens. Offering carry-out lunches and produce at the ready. They are dug in with a myriad of agencies for applique consideration based on need and urgency. Happily, and with competency they do early education via virtual classes or on site provisions. I must commend their genuine spirit and gracious aptitude that makes one depart feeling like a friend has given those who need a hand-up. In two words their mission statement would be... A helping hand. They truly make a difference in the community; if you wish to do as they do, donate whatever you can and join the mission! Volunteer work is in need these days. Thank You CAC!"
"I was having a hard time and getting the run around called them was told to come in and the receptionist went above and beyond. I expected some assistance but I left out feeling served and feeling great about Community Action Winburn! I honestly said I would love to work in this place because ppl will feel like they matter everyone in there were nice and helpful can't wait to get involved in all programs that are available for me!
