"You could spend all day in this place! It’s a curiosity shoppe within a maze of corridors, with more and more to see with every turn. Neatly piled books by subject matter and arranged alphabetically ! Even the yearbooks from Big Spring and surrounding area schools are organized, from recent right down to some oldies from the 1940’s. Everything is displayed by type of item, i.e. they have an expansive array of vases, in every color, glaze imaginable, others sorted into little cubbies by theme (i.e. Asian decor, Vintage Beatrix Potter, etc). I think I saw a good sampling of most items, but no clothes (unless I missed that corridor?), which I am fine with. Truly a nice little step into the past, but beware: you will be here for at least a few hours.. Go when the weather is cooler as there’s only fans running and it’s a huge place - very deceptive if you’re just looking at the storefront - and if you’re wanting to learn more about the history of Big Spring, well, ask for Sonia. She’s probably one of the oldest living historians of the town and likely knows one or more of your family members and boy can she tell stories ! Stories about your grandparents from 60-70 years ago… Priceless. Her memory is impeccable! Make sure you go on a day they are open and if it’s a few minutes past opening time and it looks locked up, just wait a few minutes and Sonia will come and unlock the place for you. Well worth the time. Parking is just north of the front door. Happy browsing, I know I did, and certainly look forward to returning !"
