"We visited on a Sunday and there was a lot of activity. They had several flight simulators set up to try and I successfully crash landed both a Cessna 172 and a Helicopter. (Need a lot of practice). Very informative volunteers are ready to share their stories and describe the displays in their own ways. I expected something much smaller and with far fewer displays and was pleasantly surprised by this museum. Great value!"
"This place a wonderful learning experience for aviation enthusiasts. If you have kids, they offer a different opportunity. Ask the staff for more information."
"Wonderful experience for an aviation fanatic like me. You can go outside with a certified AMK guide to get a closer look of the f101 reconnaissance spy plane… on bluegrass airport in Lexington. Seniors get in $8, adults $10, children $6, and little children, 4 and below I think get in free. 2 planes and 1 helicopter you can enter"
"My husband and I took our children (2.5 years old and 1 year old) today and had a great time. We were a bit hesitant because we weren’t sure how it would be with the boys, but our 2.5 year old loves helicopters and planes, so we decided it was worth a shot. It is SO child friendly. There is a lot of history and good information, but there is definitely a lot to be enjoyed by even young toddlers. My son was pumped to get to sit in a helicopter and airplane. He was amazed at all there was to see and talked about it all evening. There is even a children’s room with some aviation related toys (toy planes etc) if they need a place to chill out for a minute. The gentleman working in the hangars were extremely kind and very helpful and the lady working the front desk was very sweet and welcoming. We had a great experience here!"
"I have always been interested in checking this place out, and what is a better time to do it than when you're parents are in town!? So, I did just that, and I took my parents here with me to check out this museum. This is an excellent spot; the drive here was beautiful with all the green fields and the other beauty of Kentucky. This museum is located right next to the airport (no-brainer), and the staffs are super friendly and knowledgeable about the museum. The entrance fee for adults who are members was only $10? I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was not too much. It is an incredible museum with all the military and famous airplanes in history. I had a great time while I explored this museum. I recommend this place if you are interested in aero kinds of stuff, ya know."
