"I have came multiple times to the emergency room for my 26 week premie baby that has a lot of health concerns. Every time I came they have me sitting waiting for at least 4 hours as all kind of other kids are placed in the back. First time my son had RSV, I left after waiting 6hrs and went to another hospital and was taken care of immediately. My hospital stay was 3 weeks. I tried again hoping I just got them on a bad day. No, sat there for another 4 hours and I left went to another hospital the next day and my son was hospitalized for 1 week. Next time we just went to a different hospital and was sent by ambulance to this hospital again and waited in the emergency room over night. The nurse lied stated my son had eaten so many ounces. That nurse I requested for her to removed from my son care team and given to someone else because of her stating her thoughts on how well my son was they were trying to discharge as I had to fight for him to stay. We stayed almost 2 weeks. My son had two different viruses and one that was deadly and caused severe dehydration. We were in a car accident the beginning of the year and this visit was one of the best visits I experienced. Why I decided to go today. After waiting 3 hrs and being the only one in the waiting room for 2 hrs, they taken back 7 other kids when they got there 3 hrs after me I left again. They stated that the other kids where more serious then mines because I have did as a mother should gave my son medication for his fever suctioned his nose. I can’t stress to you that if you want you kids to be seen and they are sick DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING! It’s so sad! I don’t recommend this emergency room to anyone. I have never experienced anything like but at Texas Children’s!"
"Worst ER ever! 4 hours and still nobody has come in. Not even to give my child in pain a blanket. We asked for a nurse and still nobody comes in. I can see the nurses station as they are all standing around chit chatting. Laughing having the time of their life."
"Wait time was 5hrs, but I'm assuming it's based off medical urgency, which is understanding. My 4 month old was experiencing fevers and keeping nothing down. We had seen a Pedi dr at our regular office being told, "it's just a virus." The minute we were seen it took the ER doc 15 mins to diagnose my kid. The staff was kind and attentive. Our assigned nurse was the same."
"The experience here was extremely bad , I don’t even know how people still go back to the ER , watching nurses annoyed and rude for doing their job and having patients who don’t speak Spanish. Working in healthcare really irritated my soul and made me extremely mad. People go here for care not to get treated ugly . I got to ER with my 8 month old without answers and left 9 hours after without answers . I waited this long just for them to tell me to keep doing what I do at home . Obviously what I do at home is not working . Eliza Fisher -PA was the one who took “care “ of us , couldn’t give me an answer and didn’t help my child feel better , also didn’t make sure my baby was good to go home. One thing she was good at though was bringing the discharge papers quick to us ..I had never wrote a review in my life , but after seeing all the mistreated patients and getting no answers or care for my little one I had to . So disappointed honestly ."
"If you have 8 to 12 hours to spend sitting in the waiting room. This is your place. Good Luck. Read the reviews they are not off. Wish I had. Response to Texas Childrens Hospital - First read the reviews. This is not the first review with 8 to 12 hour wait times. Have your Family Advocacy sit in the waiting room instead of taking phone calls. They will get a better idea first hand. Second be honest, when someone comes in and tell them you may be better off going to another ER we are overwhelmed and it's going to be 8 to 12 hours to be seen by a Dr. At that point it's my option to leave. Don't tell me 4 hours after sitting there that I may have to wait another 4 to 8 hours."
