The Nest Schools

"My son is enrolled at The Nest and so far we love it. We started a month ago. It's his first time going to school so I think we needed it as much reassurance as my son did. The director is wonderful with us and him. She reassures us when we're worried about him. Is very comforting to him when he needs it. If there's a problem with his behavior like he's not good for going down for naps or having trouble saying goodbye at drop off. She's incredibly understanding, she gives us the knowledge and tools we need to make the transition easier. With the tools that she gave us, he is way more comfortable being dropped off and 100% better at nap time. He loves the other kids. They have a wonderful playground, two in fact. They have an art history class where they learn about artists and different mediums and then they produce that kind of art. They teach them Spanish, work on their language skills with open-ended discussions in the morning. They're helping potty train my son. They are adding a school next to their primary facility so that older children can go there but the facility is clean and quiet inside. We've had no trouble with the construction. They send you daily updates, with pictures about what your kids are doing in class, with their friends, what they eat, how the day is going for them. Etc. You can message them directly via their app and ask for updates or talk about things that are needed. I was really impressed this last week. I got a notification on the app that one of the kids in the school had tested positive for the flu. They listed what classes they were in that could have been affected and what their policy is on children who are sick, when they can return. It was really nice for the heads up. That way we can make sure we're practicing good hand washing, give the kids some extra vitamins, booster, immune systems, watch out for signs and symptoms, etc. They also do dancing with them and teach them different kinds of sports and exercises. Overall, we absolutely love it. The price is very comparable to other pre-schools. Thank you Nest for taking such good care of our heart!!"

"careful: the average on this place is inflated by the leftover reviews from the locally owned place this corporation took over. the new place is a construction site where they made sure my toddler twins knew which one of them was "the bad one." (they still know, months later: my "bad twin" tells me about how sad he was at the old school. some great teachers, but even they were starting to leave the place after the takeover."

"We had a tour scheduled and even though the director called to confirm the tour time, her age and what not, when we showed up at the scheduled time, the staff was surprised to see us and told us the person who does tours (that we spoke to just hours earlier) had already left for the day. Someone else showed us around but that start left a bad taste in our mouth. The facility is being renovated so there is clutter everywhere and the one teacher there did not look happy to be there. Definitely will not be enrolling"

"Giants Steps has been a blessing for our family. Our daughter started last fall and is about to finish her first year with the school. Her father and I scouted all over the city for the best fit for our daughter. The property is impeccable and illustrates the school's desire to put nature into the student's learning lives. The teachers and directors are top notch. Our daughter is a stronger reader, more confident and thrilled to start up again next year.
