"We used River City to install new floors throughout the first floor of our home beginning June 21, 2023. The project was to take 3-5 days. We lived for 5 weeks without the use of our entire first floor and walked on subfloor the majority of that time (pictures attached). The job was finally compete on August 4, 2023. The communication was extremely poor and the work was subpar. During removal of existing floors, our walls were damaged, new cabinets gouged, and baseboards broken and cracked in numerous areas. We had to insist that they fix these errors, as they planned on not mentioning these things and leaving us to deal with all of it in the end. There was no sense of urgency at any point, and many times the crew didn’t show up and we did not receive a call until hours after they were supposed to arrive. It was one mishap after another……. forgot to put floors in an appropriate place to acclimate, forgot to open the boxes once floors were brought in to acclimate, defective wood, and on and on. We used River City Flooring years ago and were happy with the work. Don’t be fooled, this company has gone extremely downhill. In the end, they knocked off 300 dollars “for our troubles”, although we were the ones who asked if there was anything they could do for us as a result of this horrific experience. Quite a discount for a $20,000 job with problem after problem. Please look elsewhere for your flooring and carpeting needs or you will certainly be sorry. Addendum: The info below given by the owner in response to my post is incorrect. The discount on the hardwood was given AT THE INITIAL ESTIMATE BEFORE THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. They do this because of the amount of flooring ordered, as I was told initially. Frankly I don’t care if the problem was with the wood distributor or not. I gave my money to River City. As far as I’m concerned, THEY are the ones at fault. I stand by my original post, you DO NOT want this company anywhere near your home!!!! It was nice of the owner to respond to this post below, as my husband left at least two messages with him that were never returned during the installation process. They do not care about the customers. As you can see, they do not like to admit when they are wrong. In fact, his comment while he was in my home inspecting the defective wood was “well things happen. At least no one had a heart attack or cancer or something like that.” I cannot convey this enough here on this post….Go Elsewhere!!!"

"River City Flooring did a beautiful job repairing and refinishing my hardwood flooring in our 80 year old home. We had several areas of damaged wood that was replaced. We also had two species of wood (pine and oak) that were stained to match beautifully. The contractor noticed some unused vents and removed and replaced with flooring which we did not ask for but am thankful he did. One thing to note, they do need a project manager as there were issues with no shows and lack of communication with planning and scheduling the flooring. Otherwise we had great updates while the project was in session from Jerry. On another day, our carpet was replaced by Andy who was very communicative about the job and got it done in less than two hours with excellent clean up."
