"I go here ALL the time and spend daily. I spend over 10+ dollars a day and MORE. I just had a bad experience with them a bit ago. I went to buy some eggs size jumbo and a pound of pinto beans. I only had 5.57 to spend because I'm a lil low on cash due to not getting paid until Wednesday. I was paying attention to prices I mean it was ONLY 2 ITEMS. The eggs and many other dozen cartons were placed under the price of 3.39 and the beans were 1.69 for a total of 5.08. Why was the total 6.08 and they were charging me 4.49 for the eggs. I was a bit embarrassed due to not having enough so I just had her put the beans back and I paid for the eggs and left. I realized when I got home so I called them. The man tried blaming the customers saying they move things around. I explained to him there was several cartons there. He asked me to walk back WITH THE EGGS and receipt so that he could give me the eggs for the price. Then I let the girls know and they DENY me by giving me another excuse saying that's what they cost and they had to make room for them to fit. What does putting them under a price that's OVER A DOLLAR MORE got to do with yall not having room for your product that you're choosing to sell. Don't over order if you have no room. That was rude and not considerate of a walking, paying customer. Aside from making me walk back just to tell me NO THAT'S WHAT THEY COST. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRICES WHEN BEING RUNG UP AND DON'T FALL INTO THE SMILES AS THAT IS WHAT IS USED TO THROW YOU OFF TO NOT PAYING ATTENTION. Keep the 1.10 I'll find another place to shop. It was good while it lasted."
"Like the meat, cream mexicana and all Hispanic items that you can think off. Best lard for tamales . Only down is produce some are not too fresh. They have tacos, Gorditas and plates for Breakfast and lunch"
"Tonight I got a taste of why other folks have told me they were prejudice at La Michoacana. I discovered I was out of pineapple and remembering La Michoacana was open on Christmas, I called ahead to make sure they had some in stock. When I got to the store, I witnessed a number of people of Mexican descent going into the store. I walked up and the door was locked. A young lady came running up and was trying to get someone’s attention to let us (maybe just her) in. I would have walked away had someone not just went in right before me. As we stood there, I noticed they closed at 7pm, and ironically, I look at my phone to discover its now 7pm. I was going to leave when a lady who worked there came and slightly opened the door. I thought she was going to let us in. Instead, after a brief interaction she lets the young lady in. She tells me “no” when I try to go in as well. I told her I just needed one item. She says no again, and when I insist that she just let the other lady in, she tells me “Spanish?” I said that I did not speak Spanish, and she says, "Well, no, no." And shuts the door in my face. I would have been OK had neither of us been let in since they closed at 7pm it turned that time while we were at the door. But to let her in and not me, well.... I've been told they were prejudice from a few folks but I personally had never had an issue. Tonight, it sure felt like I was being singled out because I wasn't Mexican and/or didn't speak Spanish; maybe both."
"TAMALES WERE RAW!! I bought my tamales on Dec.23rd. When I took them home the masa was raw. I had to cook them and they still didn't taste right. I don't know what changed from last year to this year, but this is not the same experience we are used to. We have been buying tamales from here for the last 6 years. This year was a huge let down. The green tamales were tasteless and raw. The only tamales that were thoroughly cooked were the tamales de dulce. Christmas was almost ruined, this is dangerous because my less latino side of the family was eating them raw before I grabbed one and caught the fact they were raw. This could have gotten somebody really sick."
"I had to walk out without getting my food. The woman that was helping me, was preparing raw eggs with no gloves prior to me getting my order. After I placed my order, she walked directly to the hot food without washing her hands. She proceeded to open the bag that my food was going to be in with unwashed raw egg, still on her fingertips. I pointed that out to her, and she assured me that she won’t be touching the food directly, but was holding the utensils to grab the food and placed her dirty hands inside the bag. My food was supposed to go in. Not good when dealing with other peoples food."
