"Short story: Right place and the right price. Long story: My only boots had a hole through the sole and needed heels. My local shop quoted me $250. While visiting the Double R Hat House in Elgin I asked for a recommendation for a cobbler. They sent me to Pete & Son. The price for a resole here was much more reasonable. They informed me that a patch would hold me over and asked where I was from. I expected to be picking up my boots on a later date, but they began working on them immediately so I would not need a return trip. For the wait, I asked for a barbecue recommendation and they sent me to Billy's Pit. I will definitely be back for my next resole."
