"Queso was amazing. My food was pretty good, my partner liked her taco too but she especially loved the house sauce. I wish the beef was a like more tender but I was very impressed with the flavor. The wood fired flavor really helps the taco. Everything here has from scratch too. The atmosphere here is really nice and open. I love the art work The staff are really friendly and the food comes out quick and hot. I’ll be returning for the pastor and crane asada."
"Wow, just wow! I’m Mexican and grew up in a Spanish speaking household in El Paso. Around Austin Mexican owned restaurants have very salty greasy food compared to what I grew up with. Dos Batos has an Austin Millennial vibe that I identified with very strongly and their food is not overly salty or greasy. I had the chicken soup and almost teared up from memories of home. Check this place out! You won’t be disappointed!"
"I ordered two wood fire Taco Loco, with an apple soda. The service was great. They offered a tortilla without cheese to accommodate my diet restrictions. Next time I am in Austin I will return to Dos Batos!!"
"I am loco for the Taco Loco - it is a low carb lovers delight (vegetarians look away now): They make the “tortilla” for your taco from seared cheese. There is chicken and beef with guacamole inside. I love the salsa verde. Everything is made in-house from scratch: the spicing on the meat, the salsa. Love the salsa verde - roasted jalapeños puréed with the oil they were roasted in is a personal favorite. This is a 5 star for what it is: This is a locally owned and run spot running out of a strip mall. Ample parking. Dietary considerations are honored. Easy access for people with disabilities. This is proof you can take everyone’s needs into consideration at affordable prices. Great quality for your money."
"Very authentic tasting food with a flavor of northern Mexico. The wood fired tacos are my go-to. The tacos are pretty pricey ~$5, but they're well served. I always get the topochicada which is a limeade with topo Chico. If you're doing Keto, you can also get a carbless 'cheese tortilla' (Taco Loco). Every taco order also comes with chips and warm salsa, which makes it feels very homemade. The salsa verde they have at the counter is also hella good and spicy This place is one of those places that aren't too popular, but one my favorite spots in Austin."
