"The Tire Center did not answer their phone on Wed. 2/28 all morning, so I couldn't make an appointment. I assume they are busy, but having insufficient employees on hand to do the work and answer the phone is management's fault. The Southlake Costco Tire Center had no problem answering the phone."
"It is pretty apparent that Costco is not really into selling tires or customer service at this location. They have gotten rid of any place in the tire center to wait, removed the bench, and are not all that interested in you being there. Their tire prices are about the same as everywhere else, and their selection is limited. Want an appointment? Go online and book two weeks out (they are not all that busy). Not sure what the attraction to Costco is these days."
"The lack of communication is what made the difference in my experience at the Southlake Costco Tire Center. I took my car into get 4 new tires and was impressed that it took less than an hour. Upon entering the office to get my keys, all that the attendant told me was that the technicians recommend I get a tire alignment. I received the attached page of notes with the recommendations highlighted. Then I go out to my car and notice that one of my hubcaps is missing, and after looking in my car, I find it on the floor resting against the passenger seat. The tire center had my phone number and spoke to me face to face when I picked up my keys, but no one told me that half of the clips had broken off of the hub cap. I realize that things break. But I expect to be told that something broke while Costco had possession of my vehicle. When I went inside to talk ask about it, I was told that they made a note for me. It's in the middle of the list, between two other notes that were highlighted. I'm very disappointed with the lack of customer service. **Update** They didn't install one of my tires properly and it began rapidly leaking air. I had to take it to them twice before they found the issue. Both times I took it in to have it checked, I never received a phone call letting me know they were done looking at it. I've wasted so much time and money on ride share transportation because of their unreliable work. I do not recommend getting tires here."
"Do not buy your tires here!!! I love Costco and their customer service is always great with anything I’ve ever had a problem with in their store, their tire shop is a whole other story. I have bought tires from them at other stores in the past and never had a problem. The attitude of the manager and employees at this store is that they are so busy they could care less if you buy from them now or ever again. I special ordered tires for my C300 from them and they did call me when they came in. The guy who took my order told me to schedule a time for installing so i wouldn’t have to wait so long, so when they called me to say they came in I tried to schedule with him but he couldn’t figure out the system and said a manager wasn’t available so I could try to schedule myself online. The earliest online appointment was 2 weeks out! So I just showed up when they opened to be first inline and that worked. They tried to take off my wheels and broke the Mercedes wheel lock key off in the wheel lock. They blamed the last person who took the wheels off for over torquing the lugbolts and refused to take any accountability. The manager said I was going to have to go somewhere and have them get it off before he could mount the tires. I was a little annoyed at this point but decided to give him the benefit of doubt and go to Mercedes dealership to have them remove the lock and then come back to have the tires mounted. The tire shop manager said “ Ok, but just so you know we are getting really busy so you’ll be at the end of the line again and we will be about 15-20 cars deep by then” I was blown away at this point that he wouldn’t put me back in right away after they broke my wheel lock! At this point I just asked for a refund. I got my money back, then decided to talk to store manager(asst GM) who reluctantly agreed to pay for wheel lock but wasn’t apologetic by any means. I left and went to Mercedes dealership where they greeted me like a business should, gave me a free loaner car(so I could run errands while tires were mounted), sold me the same set of tires and installed them problem free with a smile. Costco charged me $999.85 for the set and dealership $1,102.55 out the door. Was it worth the 10% extra at the dealership...yes absolutely. My time and energy are worth far more than that. Costco tire shop never again, you are the DMV of tires, except the DMV doesn’t make you wait in line again if they mess up your paperwork."
