"*Edit to add: never heard back from the "owner". I was never able to make that exchange even though I showed up within the alotted window to do so. I have not been back to Texas thrift since and I have found some great things at the other local thrifts instead.* This place man. Employees are always doing something out of left field. I just purchased something literally yesterday. Since they don't have fitting rooms I came back today to exchange since the item doesn't fit. Then I get stopped at the door saying they aren't doing exchanges because "it's Christmas". Um what? First of all it's not Christmas. It's Christmas Eve. I didn't know holidays prevented you from completing exchanges. It also doesn't specify this on the receipt. When I asked for clarification the guy said "we close at 5". And that wasn't what I asked. Very rude. Like if there are some unique parameters that limit exchanges then that needs to be clear on the receipt. And employees need to learn how customer service works to be honest...."
"Good quality clothing but their prices are so overpriced I just turn around and walk back out and not buying anything I mean it's a thrift store for god sakes a Walmart bra with the price tags still on it for $5.99 on it . Texas thrift price 13.99 wow I will never stop here again haltom thrift way better prices are way better still good quality clothes"
"This used to be my favorite go to thrift store until about 4 months ago when they started to significantly over price their stuff. I think they may have forgot that these are second hand clothes that they were donated! For instance just yesterday I grabbed an H&M shirt dress that still had the store tags on it... on sale for 6.99 however texas thrift decided they wanted 10.99 for it! Rip off! Sweaters are upwards of $30 and anything worth grabbing is gonna be $10 and up you can count on that!"
"Like everyone else has said, the lady manager is very rude and should not be in customer service. The prices used to be reasonable but have gone up ridiculously, which really sucks.. they have those plastic target bowls that you can buy at target for 50 cents priced at $2.99 each! Crazy. groceries are expensive enough. Yall get your items donated, at least make the prices reasonable.."
"I've been shopping at Texas thrift for YEARS. The quality of their staff has gone downhill. Everybody used to be really friendly and now they are so focused, they will literally run over you trying to put stuff out on the shelves. The bathrooms have been a disgusting mess, with 90% of the stalls being out of order. They leave the cleaning chemicals out in the open, which seems rather reckless. My biggest complaint is how they've changed their prices. They've always had higher price tags on their clothes, but lately the prices on their home goods have gone through the roof! I was looking for a couple books and I was absolutely shocked at the prices!! Most thrift stores charge less than $2, depending on the book. Children's books are usually $0.50 or so. At Texas Thrift... $4.98!!! I also found a little bunny figurine that you find at cheap dollar stores, the price?? $3.98! REALLY??? I understand they want to make money, but it's getting to the point that you can buy the same item elsewhere, sometimes brand new, for a fraction of the price. It's hard to support this business now."
