"Will always be grateful to this hospital and the care they provided when my son needed brain surgery. But I went in to get a drink since we are in the office area for a visit and the vending machine is down. I was chased down like I was trespassing then when asked why I was in there and I explained. The guy proceeded to question me like I'm an idiot because I didn't have a visitor pass. I was just in there 2 weeks ago because of the same thing and wasn't stopped. During the process of the visitor pass the guy still talked down on me like I'm stupid."
"I took my son to the Christus ER in Stone Oak for a minor bike injury. They appear to have major staffing issues. There was no one responsible for handling the front desk so our our insurance information was never collected. Once we were in our room, it was exceedingly difficult to flag anyone down when had an issue. I don't blame the medical staff--it was clear that the place was understaffed. After my son was cleared to go home, they gave me a number to call to submit my insurance information, which I did promptly. I couple of weeks later I received an astronomical bill for thousands of dollar. I called them and it turns out they didn't file with my insurance. I resubmitted it again, but lo and behold, I received another bill and had to submit it once more. I finally received a bill for $286.45 for a very underwhelming experience. I chose this place because it was a pediatric ER but my son has received much better care at Prestige and Alamo Heights ER."
"DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! They charged me 700 dollars after my insurance to tell me my son needs Tylenol for an infection... they didn't even run any test, they just looked at him for literally 2 minutes. Highly unprofessional..."
"My first impression of the waiting room was not the best but nurses and doctors were very welcoming. 5 stars because of the staff. I also observed their treatment with others just in case I got lucky. But they treated everyone the same. I recommend this place mostly because of the staff."
"It is a Children's Hospital, but it amazed me of all the activities they had for the kids of all ages, but mainly the smaller ones. Check in lasts about 30 min so I would come at least 30 min early, but it is a pretty amazing place. I loved my experience with our son (17), and I would recommend to friends and family. My second visit here, and they are still doing good work!"
