"I called to get pricing on 3 different services on the phone. I specifically communicated what was needed on 6 pairs of new boots. When I brought the boots into the store, the price doubled on 5. The fifth pair of new boots was quoted as a $150.00 job. That was almost as the boots cost. It was not a competitive market price."
"Brought my boots in because the rubber heel was starting to wear down close to the leather heel stack. They really only needed a new rubber heel attached, but I didn't realize that until afterwards, so when they told me to do a complete resole I just went with it. I definitely got talked into paying for more than I needed. They did not take the time to actually talk to me about what I needed. The real problem is that when I got the boots back, I eventually noticed that they did not remove the original stitching from the welt, they just left it in and put a new stitch on top of it. I also noticed a big black/dark brown mark on the instep from the edge dressing they did. I will not be bringing anything back here."
"Took in heels to get strap glued back, nice guy explained that I should get all straps re-glued so I agreed. When I went a couple of days later straps were done correctly but the material around shoes were chipped away, NOTHING like how I brought them in. I mentioned this mishap to the same gentleman but he continued to explain to me that because of the age of the shoe the material could chip off. This was never explained to me prior or while the shoes were being repaired. Nor did he issue any type of apology. He simply acted as if I should’ve known that information and did not offer any type of compensation. I paid for my services but will not return. Very disappointed in my experience this last time. This pair feels worthless after my visit."
"I have a pair of shoes that I simply love, but could not find them anywhere to get another paid. The Houston Shoe Hospital not only got me a new heel, but they repaired the toe tip and sole. I highly recommend their work. These shoes look just like new!!"
"Took two pairs of shoes for heel tack repair. One was bought in February ‘22, so practically new, but since I wore them frequently the heel tacks were starting to thin out (the shoes were new so I wanted to do some good maintenance to prevent further damage). The other pair of shoes I wore daily for most of the year and again, although in good shape, I still thought they were ready for the heel tacks. After getting the tacks repaired and after wearing the first pair for two weeks the heel tacks completely disintegrated. I stopped wearing them to avoid more damage and switched to another pair, that the shop “fixed” and within a week the tacks started to thin out to the point of being able to see the metal part through. So I took both of them back and described the problem. The guy I was talking to said he will do the repair but only if I paid for the repairs! That is AFTER the initial repair (done by the same guy) that did not hold up. HE refused to address it in any other way. I don’t know if it was faulty material or bad workmanship. What I do know for sure is the quality of their customer service is non-existent. He did not even offer as much as an apology and tried to allude that the work was done elsewhere. Honestly don’t know how this place has all these good reviews"
