"I got my hair done Saturday 01/20/24. Upon talking with Ester, she agreed to do my hair for another style. Once I got there and she remembered how short my hair was from a previous conversation on instagram, she was ‘standoffish’, and told me “we can’t do your hair today”. Mind you I drove 45 minutes to Euless to try her Braiders hands for my birthday. After I told her this was for my birthday and I need my hair done, especially driving that distance, she and a few other Braiders grabbed at my hair, and agreed to do it. Once I sat down, she replied “Oh and it’s $400 for micros including the synthetic hair” (in a sassy way). Needless to say, I usually would have left, because of her attitude towards me as a new, first time customer, but knowing I needed my hair done, I didn’t complain and sat down. It was always two Braiders on my hair. The one who wears the glasses was aggressively combing my hair at times (mind you I have a twa), because I felt like she was tired. The other ladies who did my hair had wonderful customer service, and even the braider with the glasses, it’s just she was tired and I felt like she was rushing to get done, so her parting with my braids, aren’t as even as the other two ladies who did my hair. Again, the ladies who did my hair had good customer service, and they were finished in 5.5 hours. The issue is for $400 including hair, the synthetic hair gets matted so easily, it’s bushy, and a lot of hair to handle. In the picture with the ‘non ponytail’ is from the braiders I usually ‘go to’, that used yaki human hair mixed and only charge $220 including hair, and it was so manageable. I feel like this hair is NOT manageable at all because it’s so bushy and tangles easy. I wanted to try “Exotic Braids” and saved my money to do so, and although they braid ‘beautifully’, the style that I received won’t last long, and I feel like that’s $400 wasted. Again, they braid beautifully, and the ladies who did my hair had good customer service, but my hair is a lot to handle (especially having medically disabled children, I was looking for convenience and easy styling of my hair). I have also lost some braids in the back, but with short hair, sometimes that happens. I do recommend you give them a try for yourself, just don’t get the micros with synthetic hair, (use a human hair mix), because your hair will look like a birds nest quickly. To preserve mines, I’m wearing them in a bun."
