"Take what you will from this. I went for a check up it had been only 1 year since my last cleaning. Dr. Gupta sat with assistant and proceeded to call out 4's and 5's this is how they determine how much buildup you have and what level of cleaning you need. I was told I needed a deep clean over 2 visits at a cost of $175 with insurance. Then I was told I need a mouth guard for $500 because I was grinding my teeth. I'm 37 years old and have never been told this. I was skeptical and scheduled an appointment with my previous dentist, Dr. Gupta staff said they would send my records. When I went to appointment they said they never recieved my records. The dentist proceeded to tell I only had 2's & 3's and 1 single 4. I only needed a basic cleaning that's free with insurance. There was no evidence of grinding my teeth, the slight wear is due to my slight overbite. I don't have proof they were scamming me but it sure felt that way."
