"Total vultures. I went in for a cleaning. They did not clean my teeth, even though i paid for it. They did do a lot of diagnostics and told me I needed $2500 in dental work, and if i didn't get it I'd have a heart attack and die. Hard sell. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion. He said I should floss more but didn't need any procedures besides a cleaning -- which he gave me as part of his exam fee. Imagine that."

"Genuinely the worst experience I’ve had at a dentist’s office in 30 years. I got 2 crowns done here (with Dr. hermann) and one of them took 4 appointments and she was still not able to fit it correctly. One appointment at my new dentist quickly showed that I needed a crown lengthening procedure for a correct fit and I was also diagnosed with a tongue tie and tongue thrust. About smile’s dentistry is sorely lacking and that is likely the reason for lower pricing. The one good thing I will credit them for is offering me a refund for this procedure…. yet because of their POOR ATTENTION TO DETAIL, they refunded my insurance for the wrong tooth (the crown that was done properly) and I have been in an insurance nightmare for 6 months with still to this day no benefit available from insurance on the tooth that I need a crown on due to Connie’s clerical error not refunding and providing documentation for the correct tooth. And they had the nerve to blame it on me. As well, their office is dirty, outdated, and all around lacks hygiene with a dog in the office some days. Absolutely do not recommend and I have warned my wide network in Austin to avoid this office at all costs."

"Dr Herman and Selena were great! I have dental anxiety and they helped make me comfortable. They even played Leon Bridges for me. Office staff was kind and explained everything to me before hand. Stoked to have found a great dentist!!"

"At the risk of sounding repetitive, compared to the other reviews, DITTO! If I could give 10 stars I would. Dr Hoover is the best dentist I've ever had, & I rarely give 5 stars in a review. Her excellent 'bedside manner' is matched by her professionalism & expertise, & I feel lucky to have found her. She made me feel comfortable, & took her time explaining my dental issues, & how we may resolve them, without me having to take out a 2nd mortgage. Dr Hoover AND her staff are the best, & I'm just glad I found her before her practice fills up & she's no longer available, because I have no doubt it will. I've had bad luck with other dentists where their main concern is the almighty dollar, & their service is shoddy at best. Dr Hoover is genuinely caring, & takes pride in her profession, the way it should be. And I'm proud to have found her!"

"My husband and I have been going to this office for 5 years and they are amazing. We both have dental challenges and the doctors, along with their whole staff, have been very careful and caring. If you fear going to the dentist due to past poor experiences, this is the place for you. We go to the Austin office off of Westgate and love all the staff there. Our adult daughter goes there and we just recently recommended a dear friend who has dental issues. Both are very glad they made the move to Dr Hoover's group!!"
