"My initial encounter with Mr Castillo was pleasant and promising. He behaved professionally and respectfully. I started to have some concerns during the repair, as I observed via security cameras, he spent a large portion of the time looking at his cellphone. After repair when I test drove vehicle I told him I could still feel hesitation. He said it was due to the mileage of my vehicle, but the mileage was the same when the check engine light came on and it became sluggish. The following occurrences are not necessarily in chronological order, but a summary of the experience. Ultimately the issue was not resolved and the work needed to be readdressed under the business warranty. That is when he lost his professionalism and began to treat me as a hassle and no longer as a customer. He no call no showed an appointment and wouldn’t respond to messages or my calls. I had a male family friend call him from a different number, and Mr Castillo answered on the first ring. After some runaround he came and determined the part he replaced was bad. After another month of broken appointments, and delays I told him he was being unprofessional and not respecting my time with the no call no shows. Ultimately it came down to discussing a refund and he was initially dishonest in that communication so I told him to just refund what he would like. I was no longer interested in engaging with a dishonest and unprofessional individual, and I have adequate evidence to prove all of the above. He later decided against a refund because he didn’t like my text response or the amount of time, less than 5 minutes, it took me to text back. Texans, just a few short years ago the state made it easier to hold businesses like this legally accountable. Oftentimes we are mistreated by companies and we don’t take any action, but if we continue to do so they’ll continue mistreating other Texans. Based on principles alone I am pursuing all avenues to the fullest extent of the law. ECJ Auto is a new business, and the owner has potential, but he will have to learn to take responsibility for his actions and his repairs. Hopefully this will be a learning experience for him that will help develop him as a person, and business owner. I will update my review with the conclusion once litigated."
