"I have been using George for almost twenty years now. I don't even live in Houston anymore. I probably drive past a hundred other mechanics during my forty five minute (no traffic) drive to get there. Why would I do that? Because he is honest. Is he the only honest mechanic? Of course not. Are honest mechanics common? If they were you wouldn't be reading reviews right now. I might be able to find an honest mechanic closer to my house. I might not. I don't the kind of money it would take to find out. He only works on Asian cars as far as I know. Sure there are plenty of mechanics that will try to fix whatever rolls up. They simply can't have a master's level of knowledge for all cars. Would you rather have somebody that knows a little bit about a lot of cars or someone that knows a lot about a your car? George has never said anything about him or his team being masters. He's too humble for that. I do trade work and have a good understanding about what it means to be a master. I've come to realize a few things over the years. This goes for any and all trades in my opinion. Nobody should have to tell you they are a master. I automatically have doubts if they do. Nobody can master everything. We just don't live long enough to acquire that much knowledge. We all want a master working on our stuff. Cars, plumbing, electrical, or whatever. I prefer to find people that specialize in fixing the problem I have over someone that knows a little bit about a lot of things. This is a long winded way of saying you should check if he works on your car before driving out. If you're looking for someone with a fair labor rate thst doesn't break the bank with the part mark ups this is it. Call ahead to see when he will have time to get you in."

When I told George about affordable parts I found, he went above and beyond to contact the company and inquire about warranty and "mechanic stuff" to ensure it was a quality piece and reputable company before I purchased it. "It is difficult to find a knowledgeable reputable mechanic that you can trust the job will be done correctly and that no one is taking advantage of you by way of fees. Myself and my family have been taking our vehicles to Northwest Car Repair/George for over 30 years. George and his crew are the best you will find (anywhere). George is a perfectionist and knows the mechanics and electronics of Toyota and Nissan to the letter. His fees are reasonable and in over 30 years, I have not ever had an issue with a vehicle where George does not know the problem and how best to proceed. He is honest and trustworthy. He only uses Nissan and Toyota parts- they might be more expensive but I have more confidence in the job and the money spent knowing we are using the very best parts. I live in Austin and I still drive into Houston to get my Toyota Tundra repaired if necessary. Several years ago, living in Austin, I had to change an alternator in my Tundra and talking with some of the mechanics in my area was a waste of time. After working with a professional such as George (and at his high level of expertise) for as long as I have, talking with other automotive people was a waste of my time."

"First of all, I trust a business respond to their reviews, good or bad. It means they care how their customers think of their business. Took my car to Northwest Car Repair for an overheating problem solely based on the good reviews of the shop. The shop is very clean and organized, George explained to me carefully about the issue and his schedule for repair. I trust people who tell me everything before hand. George kept me updated with his repair progress and showed me photos of all the parts that he was taking out and putting in. He also gave me options for different grade of parts and offered his suggestions to help me save money. In the end, he carefully tested the car making sure the problem is fixed completely. He even offered me some maintenance tips for the days to come. I have to say that, a good and honest mechanic is hard to find these days and I just found mine."
