"As an experienced individual with extensive knowledge of automobiles and currently seeking a pre-owned vehicle, I visited REEF Auto Sales & Auto Care in response to a listing for a 2021 Hyundai Elantra SE advertised at $17,900 as a "Manager's Special Cash Price." I conducted a personal inspection of the vehicle and had it assessed by a mechanic. The Vehicle Inspection Report revealed that the car had a clean blue title with no reported accidents, but it was disclosed to me that the vehicle had been involved in a minor collision with an animal that caused damage to the grill, which had been replaced. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the car had been purchased from an auction following a front-end collision that resulted in damage to the hood, front bumper, grill, and driver's headlight. The replacement headlight was also misaligned and had different colored daytime running lights. Despite these issues, I decided to purchase the vehicle. However, I later discovered additional problems such as a missing license plate illuminator and a detached front body trim that connects the grill to the bumper. Although I was able to resolve these issues with necessary repairs, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding the vehicle's history. Moreover, there was some inconvenience when the dealership informed my bank that they would accept drafting as payment despite my request for a cashier's check only. When they learned that they would not receive payment until after I had received my metal plates, they attempted to prevent me from taking possession of the car, despite my having already returned my rental and taken an Uber back to their shop. In light of these issues, I have rated REEF Auto Sales & Auto Care with three stars. Although the process was fast and the staff was helpful in facilitating my purchase of the vehicle, I cannot overlook the problems I encountered. **Edit Date: October 2, 2023** My experience with REEF Auto Sales & Auto Care took an unexpected turn after my recent purchase of a 2021 Hyundai Elantra SE. While my initial review highlighted the dealership's quick process and helpful staff, I must now update it to reflect subsequent disappointments. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the front end of the car had been discreetly repaired after a collision. The damage had been covered up with riveted metal strips holding broken plastic together, patched headlights with putty, and a mismatched, low-quality replacement for the other headlight. The overall repair cost me over $1000. This discovery significantly alters my perspective on the transparency of the dealership. Such extensive damage should have been disclosed during the initial transaction. Additionally, the inconvenience caused by miscommunication regarding payment methods and attempts to prevent me from taking possession of the car after returning my rental further dampened my experience. In light of these issues, I must revise my rating for REEF Auto Sales & Auto Care to one star. The lack of transparency regarding the car's repair history is unacceptable, and the subsequent inconveniences only compound my dissatisfaction with the overall process."
