"After being in extreme tooth pain I came across modern dental, after reaching out I told the receptionist what was going on. She was so understanding and was extremely helpful in trying to get me seen. I was pretty upfront about cost issues and she was very understanding. She stressed that my visit was to make me at least get some what comfortable since I was experiencing nerve pain and that there would be no up front cost. Having anxiety and depression makes dentist visits extremely hard for me. I honestly really struggle going to the dentist and I haven’t been in many years. I was feeling all sort of emotions and I felt like they were really trying to make my pain a priority to them. The assistant took my X-rays and was super helpful and was comforting me. The Doctor saw how much pain I was in and numbed me almost immediately. I was extremely grateful for the experience I was given in my visit today, I am a broke college student so I really do need an affordable financial arrangement. I did find that the cost of some of procedures seemed a little high but not completely unrealistic. The do offer payment plans and they took my insurance. I let them know that I might go to a different place for some of the things they were suggesting. After telling them that they were still very helpful and the continued informing me on what I should do. I had a very good experience given the circumstances."

"Dr Krantz was great. Thought we found the perfect dentist. Then the Hygienist (?) came in and evaluated my teeth. When completed, office personnel reviewed the plan and cost. I declined the recommended treatment of deep cleaning ($700+ out-of-pocket AFTER insurance) and asked for a general cleaning only. I was told that they would only proceed with the recommended deep-cleaning. Prior to moving to New Braunfels I've visited my dentist every 6 months for the last 20 years. A "deep cleaning" had never been recommended. And treatment has never been refused. Then I walk into Modern Dentistry and they try to force care on me that I do not want. My husband immediately canceled his appointment when he heard of the policy. We will go elsewhere for our dental needs. Beware of the deep-cleaning scam."
