Rocko's

"I HAD TO CALL THE LOCAL SHERIFF TODAY 10/14/2020 My truck blew a tire while passing through Van Horn Texas today so I logged onto NTTS Breakdown and found a local tire shop called Rocko's Road Service and spoke to a gentleman named Rocky. I told Rocky that I needed a rear drive tire for the driver's side and of course he said no problem. Because the one good tire on that side was maybe at 50% wear I inquired as to a used tire in good shape with similar thread depth. Again, he said no problem so my drivers took the truck to his location. He called me once they arrived and told me that not only did I need one tire, but needed tow for the opposite side as well. I asked if he had a couple more drive tires for that side as well and he said yes. I asked him to take some pictures of the tires and send them to me. The pictures showed the tires laying on their sides with one resting half on the other. I immediately called him and asked why the thread patterns were so different to which he replied that two were steer tires. I told him that I was there for drive tires and not steer tires to which he RUDELY replied, "they're already on the truck so you have to pay me for them". I mentioned that drive tires don't usually get mounted on the rear and would like them removed as I was there to get drive tires and not steer tires...he hung up the phone then sent a text to my phone demanding payment. I called my mechanic in Charlotte, NC and got him on a three way with Rocky which ended in Rocky once again hanging up the phone when he was told that due to the weight differences between the front and rear of the truck, front steer tires was not recommended. I then called the carrier's safety department and again got them on the phone with Rocky. The results were the same as he once again got severely agitated and told the safety manager that he did not appreciate anyone telling him his business. I called once again and at that point was told that he was going to seize my truck and lock it inside the gate. I CALLED THE LOCAL SHERIFF. In conclusion with the Sheriff present after about an hour of going back and forth, he finally agreed to write on the invoice that the tires were DOT compliant and that if they were to be deemed non-compliant the he would give me a full refund. Without the Sheriff this would not have happened. This Rocky gentleman was very vulgar, and every other word out of his mouth was profane. He is without a doubt the most unprofessional business owner I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP...DO NOT CALL THIS SHOP...DO NOT REFER ANYONE TO THIS SHOP...DO NOT SEND YOUR WORST ENEMY TO THIS SHOP. By the way, when I called the Sheriff, halfway through my complaint the dispatcher suddenly asked me, "Is the guy's name Rocky?" to which I replied yes!"

"Has had our truck for two months and he still has not repaired it, he has taken insurance money which paid for the repairs, but always have an excuse to why the work is not done, he can't find the right motor, he needs more money to buy the correct motor, he was in jail because of ex-wife (I would have put him in jail myself). Today is 8-18-2020 and we drove 12 hours from Oklahoma City, OK and our truck was not in the yard. What he has done with it we don't know, waiting to talk to him, will keep you informed."

"Listen to the reviews. We set them up to do a national account tire. They were apparently out of those and used another brand for which they do not have national account and charged us full price for a tire that we did not approve or ask for. Apparently this is a regular thing, if you need service in this area, stick to the Love's. You will actually get customer service there."

"DO NOT USE, EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE! If 0 or negative stars were options, this company would get it. I work for a nationwide roadside assistance company, and we have used this company 12 times because of the lack of options in the area. 8 of those times they have been over 5 hours late and give us the run around on updated ETA's. After they miss the first few ETA's, the owner of the company stops answering his phone and then blocks our phone numbers. We have black listed them now. I advise you do the same!"

"This review is for rocko's road service. What a joke! He is nothing more then a scamming mechanic that takes full on advantage of a broke down driver! Charged me 300 dollars to come get the core exchange the day before just to be told the next day that there is no core exchange! Which I know is a lie! I paid for overnight delivery of my part plus a core exchange total from the replacement fan hub was almost 2900 dollars! Then to top it off I had to pay someone else to fix it again cause his mechanic damaged the fan when putting it together I made it thirty miles fan broke and put a hole in my newer radiator! He would not stand by his or his mechanics work! This guy is a crook! A real piece a work! I would not recommend this joke to anyone!"
