"Ernie seemed really nice and explained that I needed a rebuilt transmission because mine was shot. He quoted Me a price of $3000. Asked Me for $1,900 up front to buy the rebuilt transmission. He had my yellow Xterra there for 7 months. The 1st transmission that arrived was too large, He said. It was for an Armada, not an Xterra. The next transmission that He received did not work after He installed it. The 3rd transmission finally was the right one. I explained that I had to leave El Paso for a job that I was taking in another State. But took a Male with Me & introduced Him & told Him, that He would be picking it up for Me, in my absence. So the Man told Me that E.C. kept giving Him excuse after excuse as to why the Xterra wasn't ready yet. So He told Me He thought E.C. was waiting for Me to get tired & give up, & leave my Xterra there for good. I had given Him the remaining $1,100 that I still owed E.C. So He said He was going to keep relentlessly bugging Him, til He could get my Xterra back. So finally E.C. finished the job, after 7 months. The Guy paid Him; & took my Xterra. So He disconnected the battery, so it wouldn't die, since it was a new battery. It took Me another 3 months to come back to El Paso to visit my Family. Went to pick up my Xterra. He connected the battery & I took it to gas it up. I bought a solution to clean water build up in gas tanks & put it in since it hadn't been run in like 10 months. I did that before I put the super unleaded gas in it. Well the Xterra would not start. Had AAA come give Me a jump & it wouldn't start. Said the battery was fine. Had it towed & checked by a mechanic, who said it is the transmission. I bought this Xterra brand new, & I got attached because it ran so well for 14 years. That's why I paid to have it fixed. Went to E.C. cuz of His ratings. So if You are a single white Female. Take a Guy with You, in the 1st place. Preferably one that looks scary & knows a little about vehicles."
