"Sometimes you have to travel far to find an honest man, one who will go out of his way to accommodate you. Donald Thompson is such a man. As a complete stranger acting on the recommendation of a third party, I traveled an hour and a half from my home to Mr. Thompson's shop in Springfield. Mr Thompson allowed me to supply the clutch kit and he would perform the labor. So far so good. I dropped off my truck and picked it up the next day. On the trip home, with everything working perfectly, I discovered my truck wouldn't go into reverse. Alarmed, I called Mr. Thompson, who suggested I bring the truck back to his shop. He identified the problem as an undersized slave cylinder and removed the part I had supplied and reinstalled the slave cylinder I picked up the next day. He also installed a transfer case linkage rod and didn't charge me for either. I was stunned. Thompson Transmission is in a gorgeous farm area in Washington County Kentucky. His business is neatly kept, his men are uniformed. It is obvious he takes pride in his work and will go the extra mile for his customers. Experiences like this restore my faith in mankind. "They had my vehicle for 2 months and could not fix the transmission and speed sensor issue. They told me to pick it up and they would not charge me for the new transmission they put in. I took the vehicle to a dealership to have them fix it and they said that this new transmission had the wrong fluid put in it. Thompson Transmission put the wrong fluid in it and ruined the transmission they installed. When I confronted them about this, Donald the main mechanic said that if I wanted to see the receipt of the transmission he put in, then I would have to pay him $400 cash.
