Reviews
"Broke a tooth and Dr. Herman was the only dentist who was willing to see me on an emergency basis despite me not being a patient. I am nothing but appreciative to him and his practice. Thank you for helping me when no one else would!"
"Dr. Herman is one of the kindest and caring medical professionals I have ever met. I love his sense of humor because he makes me feel very comfortable. He is very involved in his community. Dr. Herman met myself and my family on a Saturday morning, when I am sure he had other things to do, to explain to us the procedure that one of the members of my family needs. He is a born teacher, so patient and never showed any frustration in repeating answers in different ways to the same question that was asked multiple times. I know I speak for my family when I say how fortunate we are to have such a dedicated professional in our community."
"Definitely a scam. Dont come here for anything important. He charged me just to tell me he didnt feel comfortable doing the extraction. So much for a dentist"
"Dr. Herman is good at what he does, works with all patients including the uninsured and broke and is an engaged citizen of Lexington who has participated on boards and committees to make the city a better place. It is oddly refreshing to be able to go to a top notch dentist who feels like a friend and works in my neighborhood who will spend five minutes preening and joking about how handsome he is."
"Bad dental work and terrible sense of humor. I have never been so uncomfortable in a dentist office. Everything was fine at first, although the front desk was empty for about 5 minutes when I got there before someone finally greeted me. I set up the appointment for a cleaning and retainers as I lost mine, and recently moved here to attend UK. The woman at the front desk was friendly, but the actual dentist had an...interesting sense of humor. I want to say offensive but I'm still not exactly sure if he was joking or not. He began without gloves for a moment, then put them on and started checking out my teeth. He asked what I am studying at UK, and I told him engineering. He said I "wasn't as dumb as I looked" because I can find a man in engineering and settle down and have children and I assume drop out. He started making jokes about how as a woman, I should not be in engineering, and a major such as interior design would be more fitting. I went along with the jokes at first, as I didn't think they would be the topic of our ENTIRE conversation--spoiler alert, they were. When he asked what type of engineering, he joked that I should be in domestic engineering, and when I told him that I am thinking about chemical, he said it makes sense because its similar to baking cookies. After the 15 minute "cleaning" of him scraping between my teeth briefly and then brushing them as well as I did myself this morning, he did not floss them, ask about fluoride or anything that a typical cleaning entails for me. He briefly told me what his wife does for a living while he was "cleaning" my teeth, but I couldn't hear him over the toothbrush (although he said of course because she is a women she doesn't do it anymore) and I tried to change the topic by asking where she lived as he was flying to her that afternoon. He said "don't you remember what she does for a living...of course you don't because your a woman" or something along those lines. Because they did not know what plan my insurance was, he didn't do anything other than brush my teeth, completely skipping and molds for a retainer or anything saying that he would call when they figured out what my plan covered. Before the appointment, I called and asked about transferring my dental records, and was told that they "don't do that," but when I was there he was asking me about my wisdom teeth and other information that they would know had they wanted my dental records. Finally, at the end, he said he was gonna be rude and kick me out to get his other patients in, but he didn't feel that bad since I was pretty boring (which he said twice within the appointment during which I couldn't speak due to the toothbrush and hands constantly in my mouth). No information on the health of my teeth, dental pictures, regular cleaning procedure or any information or progress towards getting a retainer. This isn't the only comments made, just the most memorable. He seemed like a nice man but I didn't really want to joke about how stupid women were for the duration of my entire appointment. I am still confused as to why I got up and wasted my time and money having my teeth brushed just as well as I do myself."
