"I took my truck in to get the brakes replaced knowing they need to be replaced. They called me 3 hours later saying that I did not need brakes. When I went to pick up my truck, they said the technicians performed a visual inspection and determined that no brakes were needed and tried to charge me $40 for a visual inspection. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Especially when the employee said “ I’m sorry, I do not trust the technician performing visual inspections”. It was just confirmation that God didn’t trust the technician to work on my truck either. I was very disappointed because the reviews were good and the business looked well ran, but it was a waste of time and thankfully I did not get charged."

"Typical Midland pricing. Beware of their labor fees. A cabin air filter replacement cost me $97 in labor and $35 for the filter."

"I recently visited Lone Star Automotive, referred by family, but had a disappointing experience. They failed to use proper tools to remove my lug nuts, Mike quoted $2000 over the phone for just brake pads replacement and suggested unnecessary $200 lug nut replacement (damaged by them). After confronting them about damage, they denied responsibility after I know the condition my vehicle went in. After I went and replaced my lug nuts out of my pocket, went to another mechanic, they requested the key to my lug nuts. Which lone star technicians never asked for. Disappointed with their service and suspected they attempted to take advantage of my lack of knowledge towards vehicles. I called around other places in town and found the true value on services they tried to rip me off for (over $700). I paid them $30 for an “inspection” before realizing the damage they did. After requesting a refund since I had to repair their damage they refused to make the situation right. I would recommend doing your research before going to them as I also found out other places in town do not charge for brake inspections. Very dissatisfied overall."

"The AC/heat stopped working recently at the worst time (in the middle of the 105+ degree West Texas days!) I did extensive research on who could be trusted to fix the problem without ripping me off and after reading all the reviews Lone Star Automotive won. I filled out the appointment form online that evening and they got back to me the next morning. While the reply noted that it could take a couple of days to even see my car, they were able to get me in that day and had the problem diagnosed within an hour! I had my car back fixed and blasting cold air the very next day, and the price was not unreasonable for what was done so I had the oil changed too! For reference the cabin air filter was changed and that alone at the dealership was over $300 when I checked in to it in March. I'm a mechanics daughter so I can assure you I have very high expectations, and they were met and exceeded by these people. Everyone was more than helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure I knew everything that was going to be done and how much it was going to cost. In reading the reviews on Google for Lone Star Automotive, there were only a few negative ones, and most of those were complaining about the price. I could understand that if they were gouging you, but I found that the price was not all that much different than the dealerships in our area. Lone Star Automotive is my new go-to for anything I need done to my car - they are efficient and trustworthy (and I only lost my car overnight - say THAT about the dealerships who like to keep your car for WEEKS!)"
