Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que (To Go Only)

"Please update Google Maps that stated this location is inside of Johnny Carino's. I called several times to verify the address, and no one answered the phone. It took us more time to find the location; upon going into Carinos, there was no staff at the front desk. I had to wait until someone finally came, and she had an attitude. The food! Terrible! The brisket is salty with no smoke flavor and dry. The cornbread was cold, and the Mac and Cheese was the worst I've ever had; this is not how Famous Dave cooks their Mac and Cheese. CORN DOES NOT BELONG IN MAC AND CHEESE!!!! Do not eat here! I've eaten Famous Dave's in Louisville, KY, and it's ten times better. Very disappointed!!"

"Ordered through door dash and delivery service was great. Food was a no, and ordering from there is partially my fault because I didn’t read the reviews first. Famous burger did not come with bacon, lettuce, tomato as stated and brisket tastes boiled. I hope y’all read the other reviews and take heed. Do not waste your hard earned money on this food."

"Honesty this would be one of the WORST BBQ experiences in Austin! They don't cook here, so the food is already stale. TINY TINY sides, hard brisket, no sauce on the side (not enough sauce), no pickles, or onions...and small portions of meat for what they charge! Rip off!! The ribs were tender, and that was the only good part. They charged me a packing fee!! Yet no utensils or sauce was packed even upon requesting specifically on the online order."

"The Good Ribs plate was delicious Brisket sandwich very good Baked potato right on Corn on the cob was tender and sweet Dinner side salad fresh and generous Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good The Bad When ordered in person, the meals took about 15-20 minutes to be delivered to the counter, because it is only served as take-away style. Because the food comes out of some kitchen somewhere and delivered to the order desk/counter in to go boxes inside of plastic carry out bags it is never hot and never fresh. The corn bread was more properly called “corn cake”. It was truly as sweet as any blueberry muffin. This is not hyperbole. I have never had tableware nor napkins nor BBQ sauce in the take out bag with any food order. Ribs without sauce? No bueno. The Ugly I have never had an order 100 percent correct. Once I got the wrong meal entirely. Once I was told (after a twenty minute wait) that my order would come out of the kitchen “any minute now.” When another employee checked among the bags of orders still sitting on the staging table five minutes later, they said “Oh! Here is yours!” This place is literally INSIDE Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant!!! There is NO EXTERNAL SIGNAGE!!!! Google and Apple Maps can not find it!!!! It is impossible to find! I can not tell where the kitchen is, but I was told that this is a “virtual” restaurant. But the food is real. It would be wonderful if it was hot."

"Ordered a rib & meat plate and a 3 meat plate online from the Famous Dave’s website for a future pickup time of 5:30PM. That was my first mistake! The food was cold and not made for the set pick up time. It seemed to have been made at the order time instead of the actual future pickup time. When I asked if the food had been waiting their a long time, the staff member, said it had just been brought out which was NOT the case at all. The receipt on the food was prepared at the order time which was over 1.5 hours prior to pick up! Again this was for a FUTURE order, which was not made to order. I checked the food right in front of the staff member to be sure. The fries were soggy & cold. The salad was at room temperature at best & the croutons were soggy mush! The meat was no where near warm at all! The meat was all mixed together & not in separate containers as ordered with it’s appropriate sides. The cornbread was clearly a day old and hard as a rock! This is the last time that I’d order from here. The only reason I had placed a future order was because I thought due to Friday night traffic & shortage in staff that I wanted to be mindful of all that. In the end for the amount of money I spent the food was nothing close to what a Famous Dave’s prides itself for."
