About the Business
El Chilito is a vibrant and laid-back fast-casual restaurant located in Austin, Texas. Our recipes are made from scratch daily, using locally sourced ingredients such as El Milagro tortillas, Medici Coffee Roasters, and Texas-raised beef. As the "little brother" to the popular El Chile restaurant, El Chilito offers a similar modern Tex-Mex dining experience with a more relaxed atmosphere and local charm.
The outdoor patio at El Chilito is adorned with hand-built planters, brightly colored picnic tables, and strings of lights, creating a welcoming ambiance year-round. In addition to our delicious Tex-Mex dishes, we also have a full espresso bar that complements our menu inspired by both Tex-Mex and interior Mexican cuisine.
Our commitment to quality and freshness has made El Chilito a beloved institution in the Cherrywood community and a staple in East Austin. We have even been recognized by the New York Times for our exceptional food and service. Join our loyalty program to earn points and unlock discounts on your favorite dishes. Visit us at either of our locations on Manor Road or Manchaca Road to experience the flavors of El Chilito for yourself.

"Updating my review. This used to be one of my favorite places, but every time I've gone there in the past year it has been disappointing. They used to have the best salsa in town, now it hardly has any flavor. The bacon was always crispy, now it's chewy like beef jerky. Everything is bland. I used to really love their Mexican hot chocolate with espresso, but they don't have it any more. I haven't found any other coffee there that I like, and today my cold brew was very very bitter. Cold brew isn't supposed to be bitter at all. To top it off, my husband and I have been feeling sick ever since we left there this morning. I'm sad to say it, but ... So long, El Chilito."
"Stumbled on this place while traveling through ATX. Everyone was so friendly. They made our morning a little brighter. And hot dang…the breakfast chorizo burrito crushed it. This place is a must stop! Before you go snag a bunch of that green sauce. It’s next level yum."
"Pretty standard breakfast tacos. Sometimes they are great and sometimes they are average but they’re my go-to for breakfast tacos in Austin. Great service. Both locations are great for eating outside. For me, it’s an authentic Austin experience and always reminds me of when I first moved to Austin. Be kind and tip them well, they’re good people!"
"If you haven’t gone food shopping and want to eat something that has any actual nutritional value after working out at the golds down the street this is your spot. It’s the closest non fast food spot from the gym so I decided to try it out since I haven’t been food shopping yet and I didn’t want to ruin my whole workout by eating one of the numerous fast food restaurants nearby. The tacos were good. Literally no complaints, they’re less than 5$ each and reasonably sized. 2 should have you full but not stuffed. I also got a fruit cup since I’m trying to eat healthy and for the amount of fruit you get I’d say it justifies the price to be honest. The tacos themselves weren’t mind blowing must have tacos in a city known for tacos but they’re very good and I wasn’t disappointed. I also got a chocolate chip cookie since who cares about gains… and it tasted better than a grocery store cookie, it was surprisingly good for a Mexican spot Overall it’s a good place in an area that doesn’t have a lot of immediate non fast food dining options. I’d recommend trying it out"
