"I drove into Austin from Houston for the day and figured it was time to get some Cajun food so I stopped here. I'm sure glad I did. I ordered the Shrimp Poboy and a cup of Red Beans & Rice. I loved it all. The French bread was fresh, straight from Leidenheimer's Baking Co. in New Orleans. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the dressings were fresh and crisp. As far as the red beans & rice is concerned, it was perfect as well. The service was spot on as well. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. I felt very welcomed. I will be back."
"Been coming here a couple years with my husband and it’s our favorite Cajun rest in town! We love their Gumbo and amazing Po Boy’s sandwiches. The beers and drinks are also always on point. My only observation is that I don’t know why the lunch staff provides better service than other times at the day. We come pretty often here and been there in all shifts and definitely will always prefer going in at lunch. Otherwise, everything else is good and will always recommend to give it a try."
"If you’re looking for a cool small bar spot to hang out, grab a cocktail and some apps this spot is interesting. However if you want some New Orleans style food, I’d unfortunately say this is not it. We went there to try their gumbo, in that big hunt for the perfect Nola spot, and this place just did not deliver. Their gumbo gravy/broth had a flavor and texture of the powdered brown gravy mix packets. The ingredients came off as super bland. Overall it was a disappointment and something I’d never get there again. One positive was their apps and cocktails. I had the chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce which was definitely solid. Also ordered their old fashion which tasted great. This is mainly why I’d say apps and drinks are good but beyond that it’s not a place to go for a real meal. Hopefully they can iterate a bit more on their Nola recipes, up level them to meet the standards of that fantastic creole cuisine but until then I’d recommend skipping."
"We eat here fairly often for dinner. The boudin balls are amazing as an appetizer. Recently went in for brunch. Yum!! We got both of the Benedict options and neither disappointed! Really tasty. And I ordered my poached eggs medium . . . They were PERFECT. Wow."
"Great place for brunch, lunch or dinner! This Cajun loving Texas girl loves the food here. The gumbo is very good, The chicken fried steak is fork tender with the perfect amount of Andouille sausage gravy. I absolutely loved also, the pancakes with the pecans!"
