"What used to be a wonderful place that played Christian music and was run by sweet younger employees is no more =( Unless you have Gucci, Prada, or other super high end brands to sell, don't expect them to buy anything. I dropped off a lot of really nice and new with tags stuff and they only bought the cheaper things from my pile which I found odd. The music was atrocious and was sexual in nature from the lyrics I heard while browsing the store. Definitely not what it was last summer which is a damn shame. I was hopeful for a store like this to make it to the Katy area but sadly it's now like all of the others. Save yourself the trip and in the meantime I will be looking for a better option."
"Clothes Mentor Katy is a gem that I just found out about. A friend recommended I go months ago and I just got around to going in today. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from starting a dressing room, asking if I wanted them to hold the items I wanted while I continued to shop, to even complementing my eye for fashion and good pieces. I tried on lots of things and made a decent purchase. I will definitely be back!"
"This is my second experience buying and selling items at Clothes Mentor in Katy, Texas. My initial encounter with the store was satisfactory, as I was impressed by the customer service. Although I had hoped for a slightly better offer on the items I dropped off, I was content with receiving something in return, especially since I usually donate my clothes to Goodwill. Encouraged by my first experience, I returned for a second time with a larger haul. I dropped off my items on a Sunday evening and received a helpful reminder via text and phone call on Monday to pick them up. However, my overall experience took a disappointing turn upon entering the store. Despite several employees working both the floor and the counter, none greeted me when I walked in. As I wandered around, waiting for acknowledgment at the register, it became apparent that no one was attending to customers. It was only after awkwardly hovering around the desk that someone finally acknowledged me. To my dismay, most of the items I brought in were turned down, and I was informed that my clothes needed washing and had an odor. While I understand the need for cleanliness standards, I was taken aback by the lack of tact in conveying this information. It could have been handled more discreetly rather than embarrassing me in front of others in the store. I am not upset that my items were declined or that they needed laundering, as they might have been stored in my closet for an extended period. However, the absence of tact and tacky customer service has left me disheartened. One employee even went as far as smelling my boot and remarking negatively. Considering this experience, I am hesitant to return to Clothes Mentor Katy. Improved customer service and a more considerate approach to communicating such matters would greatly enhance the overall experience for customers like myself."
"Wonderful and positive staff. I went here with some family and I was the only one who filled out the survey and had clothing ready when I arrived. There was so many great pieces! With such great advice. They became so busy that they ran out if dressing rooms. Family members are hard to shop for got more clothes than me! I will be coming back, there needs to be more places like this because it’s hard to shop plus size while thrifting."
"Ellen the owner and her entire team at Clothing Mentor are absolutely wonderful! I walked in and felt immediately welcomed. They took such good care of me. There was a great mix of high end fashion items and more affordable items that were truly wonderful pieces but more affordable. I saw beautiful Louis vutton bags and Gucci bags and even some Coach bags and Kate spade items. All such a good mix. I left with a Draper James dress new with tags and a beautiful fall Zara dress. Highly recommend!"
