"I use to shop at this store in Kansas city mo never seen another one till I moved to Dallas great deals nice styles"
"The manager would not let me exchange my jeans claiming I had a spot on them. She said I could buy another pair for $10 Totally unacceptable. I will never shop there again!!!"
"Great prices on women shoes. Clothing don't even compare to Memphis Tennessee stores if you've ever shopped at one. Women selection not really good. Limited on mens and children clothing"
"It's been about a little over a year since I quit this place. I worked there for 5 years. The manager, Ricardo, hired me and I remembered the first gesture he did for me when I didn't have any money for food that day. After that Ricardo showed me what it was like to have a good manager. There were plenty of times I was rewarded for my hard work and he made it a good place to be an employee. Ricardo was the type of person to get things done, try new things, and accomplish goals. When things did get tough, you could tell he was having a bad day, but I could understand how he felt because the guy has been working there for a long time and at the same time working long hours. He's young and I knew that he wanted a life outside of Genx. All and all Ricardo was a pretty cool person...The next person I remember was his sister. She was an outrageous character and I don't mean that in a terrible way. She could be sweet and heartfelt, but never ever get on her bad side. lol There is also Jamie and John. When Jamie came into the picture, my hours became 6 hours, to 10 hours in a day. I swore I cried and complained like a baby, because I was content with my part time hours. Jamie was strict and she knew exactly what she wanted from her employees and the store, and deep down she had a kind heart, and John was just a total sweetheart! lol Both Jamie and John are amazing people and I will always remember them..... I always did enjoy working with many other employees that worked there. They made everything fun and exciting...Now, how I honestly felt about working at Genx, I felt trapped in an infinite loop. At first I developed the passion on being on the sales floor and folding pants all day, and then my passion went down completely when I had to become the full time cashier. Being the cashier was the most aggravating and atrocious occupation I would ever remember. I dreaded each day that I had to be up there. I had devastating experiences at that register that broke me down on the inside and what really caused me to make that big step to quit Genx was Oscar...He was the person that helped me grow up once and for all. When Ricardo left, Oscar became the manager. Before he saw how anything worked at the store, he changed everything! We were losing customers, employees, and he made it into an hazard place to work at. Oscar was a malicious person and a liar. The LARGE tasks he wanted you to do were nearly impossible as a cashier because I had to check out customers and imagine getting interrupted all day with at least 100-200 customers.....and then when you couldn't accomplish your tasks, He's literally asking you "what's going on? Why aren't you getting things done?" It's funny how after dealing with my previous managers for 5 years telling me that I was a very good trustworthy worker, Oscar comes into the picture and treats me like I'm lazy. He was obsessed at looking at the camera. The first sign that showed me that he was kind of nuts was when he kept mentioning, "Hm, the cash box is missing change." Consistently we were short of money..."Hey, we are missing $600 out of the envelope, Where is the money?" "Oh wait never mind." I remember all the new people that were on the register kept being short at least $100 including the girl that couldn't tell the difference of a fake bill. He was lenient with them...but in his eyes, I was the real "problem", the "thief". my last straw was when he kept asking me to admit to what I was doing at the register, because on the camera I looked suspicious. I was only checking the sales from the previous Sunday to compare days. My heart was pounding hard against my chest. The tears welled up in my eyes, and I told him I was going to find another job and I had enough. There is so much I can mention, but I have no room now, but later on I returned for my check and he apologized to me...Genx is my life lesson. 5 years taken from me. Good and Bad. Every once in a while I think about my past experience there, I was 19 when I first started and now tomorrow I am 26. I will never forget this place..."
