"Went for a friends birthday, ambiance was nice but I it was a Friday night and they only had 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant! Took forever to get our food and when I received it my waffle and wings were cold! The wings would’ve been very good if they were hot but the waffles were bad, very dry. Won’t be back unless invited for another birthday dinner"

Despite having dined at your establishment twice before with pleasant experiences, our third visit, celebrating my brother’s birthday, was nothing short of disappointing. Upon arrival for our 1:45 pm reservation, we were informed that our table would be ready in 10 minutes, which ended up being 15 minutes, a delay that was not acceptable given our punctuality. Once seated, we were dismayed to find ourselves uncomfortably close to the stage, subjected to intolerably loud music. It was to the point where I had to resort to makeshift ear protection. Sound levels reached an average of 104 decibels, well above the safe threshold for prolonged exposure, making conversation impossible and posing a genuine risk to our hearing health. Despite promptly placing our orders, the service was subpar, with our only two alcoholic beverages arriving 15 minutes late and our food taking over an excruciating 30 minutes to be served. To our dismay, the quality of the food fell short of our expectations. The grits, which I had previously recommended, were disappointingly watery, and my portion lacked the promised turkey bacon. The culmination of these issues not only marred what should have been a special celebration but also left us feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. As patrons who spent over $150, we expected a much higher standard of service and quality. The management must address these issues urgently. Excessive noise levels not only detract from the dining experience but also pose a significant risk to patrons’ well-being. Additionally, improving service efficiency and ensuring the quality of dishes are essential to upholding the reputation of VII Kitchen and Cocktails. "I had a craving for catfish, Mac n cheese, and yams and VII Kitchen did not disappoint! The catfish was flaky and not over friend. Both sides were really good! My friends enjoyed their food as well. The one that had the steak said it could be more flavorful. I made the mistake of trying to make a reservation the day before...and was unsuccessful. Try to make it early to ensure you can get in. I waited a little over an hour and was able to be seated. There is no guarantee; it's based on if people miss their reservation. The vibe of this place was spot on! The live band was super entertaining. The staff was very kind. But it does take a very long time for your food to arrive so be prepared. I'll definitely go back!"

"My friend treated me to brunch for my birthday and we fell in love with this place! Great food! We ordered the chicken/waffles, fish/grits, and the breakfast bowl. Yummy!! Erica was our server, and she was awesome! The drinks were good. They had a DJ AND a live band that sounded amazing! We will be back! Good vibes all around!"
