"It was my first time trying this place. I don't feel that I'm hard to please, just particular. I'm very impressed with Ella B's. I tried the lamb chops. They were nicely seasoned and cooked to a good texture. I had them with sweet potatoes and greens. The potatoes could have been warmer, but still good. My date had the southern style oxtail stew with rice and vegetables. They don't have a huge menu but a decent variety of menu options. A dj plays music for your enjoyment. Nice atmosphere. Reservations only. It gets packed most nights, I'm told. You will not be disappointed."
"This was my first time visiting this restaurant. We went on a Saturday evening. It was full of customers, and we had no reservation. The manager found a good table for us, and we were seated quickly. The vibe was awesome. The $10 entertainment fee was well worth it. The service was really good. The food was excellent and you're given huge portions. I was able to make 2 meals from mine. Our waiter provided me with a great drink suggestion when I asked. Overall I loved this place, and I will definitely return on my next trip to Arlington. I would suggest early dining as they will run out of certain foods throughout the day."
"Should have went to kitchen+Kocktails! The food was not good to me at all, the service was horrible, took forever to get a drink, took forever to get food, cabbage had no seasoning or flavor, nor did my Fish! You would think by it being black owned the food would be good, this was my first and last time. It was my mom’s birthday and for all the money they spent they brought her a bottle of shutter house smh, I ended up eating something I did not want to eat because they had no food, none of the sides that they present in the menu, somebody had to change their food because they ran out smh! They charged you 10$ for a listen to a band, she didn’t even know the lyrics, definitely could not sing, $10 automatically on your bill for a waiter that cared less about her tables, never again!!!!!!"
"So today me my grandmother and my older cousin went for brunch before they attended the game. We walked right in and was sat down we had a reservation. Majority of the menu was not offered. The gentlemen sitting next to us had ordered food waited almost 10 minutes to then be told that more than half of their order they didn’t have. I don’t know if they didn’t go shopping or what was going on today. One of us ordered honey fried chicken wings cabbage and sweet potatoes. The “yams” were not fully cooked and they weren’t cooked correctly they were covered in SYRUP not the correct way. The cabbage had no flavoring even with the meat that had on top of the bowl they gave us. Her chicken was not cooked in the sauce how it was described, the sauce was on the bottom of the pile of chicken so she had to dip it in the sauce for to have flavoring. My 4 piece fish was fried so hard that it was dark chocolate instead of golden brown. My mac n cheese was cooked in some type of cheese it was not a RUE. The cheese they had on the top was hard like they torched it. The atmosphere was great it was gospel and then and 12 it switched to rnb a smooth change. I found this restaurant by searching for black owned brunch places near the stadium. It had African American staff but looking in the kitchen NOT ONE WAS. maybe that was a reason it didn’t taste like soul food like advertised. It opened at 11am and we had a reservation at opening. So it wasn’t a reason on why more than half of the menu was not available. I will not be recommending anyone including anyone visiting from out of state like my family was. Have a great day ‼️"
