"Not a fan at all of the ambiance anymore, the themed areas look tacky. What’s next I imagine will be the staff will be dressed as characters. My family has been going there forever, one of our favourite places until we went last night which will be our last time ever. The host that sat us at our table had saggy pants on, walked to the table way ahead of us as my grandmother doesn’t walk that fast anymore. The waitress was nice but quite loud, and almost knocked my sister out while putting stuff on the table. Smoke or dirty carpet smell ruined some of our appetite. The rice was like out of a cheap box meal, the chicken in my grandmothers taco salad was so big she had to cut it, the knife that was brought, looked dirty and had been a bit melted on the handle. The salsa tasted like cold chilli as my mom described it, I just didn't like it. When my sister tried to let the manager know the smell ruined her appetite due to the smoke from the bar, (which we never noticed before) the manager really couldn’t care less. My sister tried to give a heads up so they could do something about it, overall, I think the main thing to do would just go back to the way the old owner ran it, cause people liked it better even if it was just for the ambiance, and what they are trying to do now is just plain tacky."
"Awesome fun atmosphere with all the Christmas decorations! We visited during late January while they still had Christmas lights up. Overall we had a good time. Drinks are fairly priced and good! The food was sub par and nothing special. The environment definitely makes this place special. The chipotle shrimp appetizer on cabbage was good. Chips, salsa, and queso brought to the table. The fried cheesecake looks like a big egg roll but reminded me of a toaster strudel. Options of raspberry or caramel for the fried cheesecake"
"It’s Christmas every day !! Great cocktails and really good Mexican food! Got there about 5:30 and service was kinda slow. But the Paloma was so strong and good ! I had the Chile relleno and it was so good with Ty chili con carne! The chicken enchilada was tasty! The serve salsa and queso with a bucket of seasoning chip before the meal! So tasty and delicious!"
"Ordered a variety of plates. I'll start off by saying that taste is subjective, preparation is not. I am also very judgmental when it comes to Mexican food. With that being said, I did not like the food at all. Most of it was either bland. The tortilla soup tasted mostly like water with a hint of chicken broth. The enchiladas were very disappointing. There was no spiciness to the salsa. I tasted other plates with the same results. In the end, we went for the Christmas experience. The restaurant is decorated over the top, and it looked great. The service was very good, they were slammed with people and I thought our food came out quickly considering how busy they were. It's unfortunate that the food doesn't match those quantities."
"A Nightmarish Dining ExperienceI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Campo and I must say, it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The service was abysmal, with an agonizing wait of at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive. To make matters worse, my child ordered a well-done burger, but when it was brought to her, it was so undercooked that the cow might as well have been mooing on the plate. The quality of the food itself was nothing short of appalling. In an attempt to salvage the evening, I decided to order a margarita during what was supposed to be "happy hour." However, what I received tasted more like diluted juice than any respectable cocktail. After requesting a replacement, I was left waiting for another 20 minutes, only to be served an icy concoction with an unidentifiable brown liquid at the bottom. I promptly had it removed from my order.Adding insult to injury, when the bill arrived, both the problematic burger meal and the disappointing margarita were still listed. To my dismay, the waitress struggled to rectify the situation, and not once did the manager step in to offer an apology. Instead, the manager chose to parade around with a rude demeanor, explaining the bill without a hint of remorse. In conclusion, Campo Verde is in dire need of improvement or, dare I say, closure. The overall experience was so disheartening that I would only recommend visiting for the lights, and promptly leaving to find a more enjoyable dining establishment. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear of this culinary catastrophe."
