"It's inside the shell station which I think is very convenient the side orders are mediocre at best, their not bad. they are just average. Now on to the meat brisket had okay flavor but the show-stopper was that the brisket was cut with the grain so it made my sandwich feel like I was chewing on a ball of yarn!!!!! Come on guys , cut opposite the grain, that's brisket 101."

"Where to start...first, the "sliced" brisket is a chunk of roast that is dry and somewhat flavorless. Second, the spicy sausage is so dry you can barely chew it. Third, and most sacrilegious thing they could do next to putting Texas in the same sentence as their barbecue, was the peach cobbler. This stuff is nearly completely flavorless and no sweetness at all. It's almost like thin biscuit dough with canned peaches thrown together. On a positive note, the coleslaw is outstanding, the area is clean and the staff very friendly. They don't even have fried okra as a side! Overall, this place is nowhere near worth spending $36 for two plates of this wanna-be barbecue. Not sure how they stay in business except they are located on I-35 inside a gas station. I do believe the Sonic in the same building would have been a much better value and better tasting. Bottom line, I will never come back. I'll drive a little further to Casstevens since the food is more authentic and you can chew it. When Google asks what I recommend they need a button for going somewhere else!"

"Super nice people. Donna was the star!! I usually write bad reviews or good reviews. This one is a mix. I’m not hard to please and I’m a sucker for food that looks like I prepared it. When I’m home in Florida, my neighbors know, because the smoker is a rollin’ smoke. The chicken is what I ordered. 3/4 pound. A little now n later if you will. It’s got good flavor, but quite dry. When I smoke at home, it’s still juicy. Maybe it’s a Texas thing. The barbecue sauce? Off the chart! The corn and (especially) the mac n cheese. I love fire roasted corn. I’m no fan of macaroni and cheese. Mainly, because it’s always dried out. I saw theirs was looking quite moist. I figured I’d give it a go. It was exactly how it looks. Creamy and delicious, just like mom made when we were kids. I’m not knocking the restaurant or the friendly folks working to keep us fed. No, far from it. I’m just leaving an honest review."

"I'm a truck driver from New York to deliver some materials at the warehouse. Supposed to be back before Christmas. But it seems like it's not looking like that. Stuck down here for 2 days. And misty and rest of them. The hospitality was so friendly. And the smiles were so warm. And the staff is surprised me working so hard to keep the place clean. To Satisfaction I left all the pilot stores that I've been to. It falls in the Save category level one. And whenever I come back down in this direction to Texas. I don't know right where I'm going. The food was off the chain. In the hospitality. And the smell is and the one that makes me feel Like home Thank you a lot of stuff. Merry Christmas"

"I usually dont write any reviews but oh boy! This place definitely gets an easy 5 star. Nice store, great food (night shift Haddel lady is awesome) and very clean bathrooms."
