"Great experience for the whole family! We were greeted with music playing at the welcome station. Friendly staff gave us our life jackets & wrist bands. Someone even offered to take a family pic! Very welcoming & well organized, with food and drink stand & portable restrooms nearby. Steep climb up from the river for anyone who has trouble with stairs. Overall, wonderful day!"
"We took a Canoe and the kids (adult) took kayaks. River was nice and slow, a very pleasurable experience. Everyone who worked there was polite and helpful as we are older."
"Review for 2-3 hour canoe trip with kids 8-11 years old: Reservation process was easy and informative. GPS address worked great. Parking was free and convenient. Easy to go back to the van if we forgot something before getting on the bus. Check in was simple (confirmed reservation and everyone got a life jacket). We had one kid bring her own life jacket and she looked more comfortable than the others (though none complained). I recommend kids bring their own life jacket, but no need to buy one if they don’t. The only option to fill water bottles is a well pipe, so bring cold water with you. No vending machines or food/drink purchase options that we saw. Bus left on time with about 30 people going to two different stops. Driver was full of energy and helpful. We chose the 2-3 hour canoe option. We put two 11 year old girls in a boat, two 8 year old girls in a boat, and 2 adults in a boat. Kids had never canoed before. We were nervous about the 8 year olds for sure. Bus dropped us off. Everyone used the bathroom (highly recommend. Last chance.), staff gave us some instructions about bridges that mark distances along our trip, everyone picked a paddle, and we were on the water. Credit to the staff for answering questions and helping us feel more comfortable with the young ones especially. Eleven year olds figured it out with no problems. Eight year olds took a minute but started to figure it out. It was fun to see them learning, talking, laughing… it was like watching a camp team building for a bit. Eventually they (mostly) figured it out. We saw turtles, fish, sea shells, huge birds, spiders, dragon flies… kids stopped several times to play in the water. Two stops were the most fun. Stop at the rope swing! You can’t miss it. There are hammocks and a chair swing too. Also stop at the covered bridge. This is the 1/2 way point. Bathrooms are about 200 yards away up a paved trail. Worth it. Much nicer bathrooms than drop off. Also a playground, picnic table, and covered bridge to explore. We ate sandwiches here that we packed from home. Perfect time for that. Highly recommend water bottles and packing snacks/lunch. There was bridge construction at one point over the river, but it didn’t interfere with our trip. Not sure if this will become an issue as work continues. Full trip took about 4 hours, but we stopped a few times and our youngest rowers barely went faster than the people on tubes floating down the river. End point was easy to spot. Staff helped us collect boats. Again, super friendly and helpful. Kids decided to play in the water for another 20 minutes. Overall experience was great. Really appreciated the staff. Low risk, high fun day with my kids and their friends doing something new in nature. $60 per canoe felt pricey but not outrageous. We’d do it again as a special occasion."
"The bus driver was great! He pointed out our spots to keep an eye out for. The check in ladies were great as well. When we got to our drop off, the two guys gave a small speech, but other than that told us to grab our paddles. I've never been kayaking, so that was not helpful at all. They just stood there and looked. Luckily my husband knew what was happening and helped us. For a first time person, they would have been lost. I feel bad for someone with no experience because even learning how to paddle is a big challenge, but a fun one! I don't know how many circles I paddles in. The weather was nice, and the 6 mile adventure took us a little over 3 hours. We saw great views. You will get wet! We had to get out of the kayak twice when it got stuck in the really shallow parts, but that added to the fun. Will def go back! They also have tubing, which looked super fun."
"We had a group of 10 and it was a great day. Very relaxing! We took a large cooler that fit perfectly. It was a 72qt and it fit very snug. We got the straps to link all of the tubes. I think you can avoid this cost by just using your life vest. The current was good. The water Depth was about 1ft to 7ft. Everything seemed to be well organized and the staff was easy to work with. The bus driver did a great job. She told jokes and pointed out locations along the drive up to the bridge drop off. Approximately 15 min drive up. Overall I would recommend this company. This is a very relaxing day for the costs and great memories. Bring sun screen and water. It took us around 4 1/2 hours to make it."
